❕Difference between steel base and cast aluminum base❕

1. Construction - steel base are actually steel elements welded to the ring in which the actuator is mounted. The aluminum base is a homogeneous cast. Thus, structurally, the base made of aluminum will hold the greatest weight.
2. Design - steel bases are very similar to each other. In general, the idea is to make them as resistant to loads and twisting as possible, so most often they have a thick "pipe" with a narrowing to withstand as much as possible (sometimes unfortunately, it lets go of the weld, which is why quality and trust in the manufacturer is so important). Aluminum bases have different shapes because they are cast in form.
3. Size - the larger we need a base (with a larger diameter) the greater the possibility of "cutting" welds with longer arms of the base, so for people who are heavy and can afford aluminum bases, it is better to buy aluminum.
4. Damage - in the case of aluminum bases, the bases can be refreshed using paste and then polished cross. In the case of a steel base, you can at most give it to the painter to paint a inny color (I have not seen anyone do this because it is simply unprofitable).

✔ Sometimes we think that the aluminum base looks too "gentle". Please choose one that looks more solid in our eyes, e.g. PFA219/700, PFA220/700 or ES 700.

✔ On the other hand, we often look for "subtle" basics. Aluminum base in the right shape will be ideal, e.g. PFA230/690 or PFA215/690.

⭐ How to choose the basics? All in all it's simple... ⭐

In general, many people have an injury to the basics that look like plastic. He simply does not trust them and is more willing to choose steel or aluminum. However, polyamide bases with the addition of fiberglass that we have are very durable.

1. Jif we can afford it financially then every aluminum base from my auction will be the best choice, especially the ES 700 base with security at the ends.
2. If we are looking for something that in our opinion is supposed to confirm that it is massive then I recommend the basics: polyamide- TS02, TS 06, all steel bases-, aluminum bases like ST04, PFA220, PFA219 or a great compromise between perception (massive) and appearance (additional black element) base ES700 After them you can just see that they are large and massive
3. If we are looking for something strong and sophisticated then we have polyamide bases TS 25, PFN031, aluminum PFA215 and certainly PFA230
4. If we are looking for something strong and economical - cheap - the best will be the bases PFN031/680 black or PFN031/630 black
5. If we have a problem with the size of the base e.g. If you have a smaller base in your chair - with a smaller diameter - and you are wondering what to do. The answer is very simple. If space allows, take a larger base. It will be more stable and if the chair allows rocking, it will certainly be safer.

⚡ Base groups in terms of strength. ⚡

Position 1 means weakest, position 5 means strongest!

1. The most popular on the market and the cheapest are plastic, polyamide, nylon bases, etc. Unfortunately, they often cannot withstand the weight and simply break. They usually do not come in diameters above 64 cm because the larger the diameter of the base, the easier it is to break. What’s more, they almost always do not have an additional groove in the handle, which means that the wheels usually fly out of them. The wheel has such an additional spring in the stem that we put into the base just to "anchore inside the base. The regular bases do not have this groove or taper and the circle locks only in the hole- these bases I do not have
2. Polyamide bases with the addition of fiberglass, e.g. TS 02, TS06, TS25, PFN031 with the addition of fiberglass are qualitatively comparable with steel bases ST 16 new and: ST02, PFS122.
3. Steel bases ST16New, ST02, PFS122 are technically comparable with glass fiber bases but often perceived as stronger because... steel. The strongest of the steel bases is the st16New base - it is made of better steel.
4. Bases made of aluminium ST 04/660 , ST 04/700, PFA219, PFA215, PFA220, PFA230 including ES 700 - base with additional anti-scratch pads and structure to prevent slipping of the legs (if we like to put our feet on the cross).

It is also worth considering buying new wheels to make the chair look like new.
