Enzyme Complex PRO contains an innovative complex of digestive enzymes. It consists of GMO-free and vegan-appropriate enzymes with a broad spectrum of action, including amylase, protease and lipase, obtained by the fermentation process of Aspergillus oryze. These enzymes break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats, while being resistant to gastric juices and maintaining their digestive activity.

Enzyme Complex PRO also contains a probiotic-prebiotic complex called a synbiotic. The spores of Bacillus coagulans contained in it can be stored at room temperature. Glactomannan is a fiber with a prebiotic effect. It is a fraction of soluble fiber derived from dietary fiber, from fenugreek seeds.

About digestive enzymes:

Digestive enzymes are a group of enzymes secreted in the digestive system, mostly hydrolases (hydrolytic enzymes), catalyzing the breakdown of more complex to simpler compounds (involving water). In all heterotrophs (foreign organisms), digestion processes proceed similarly and involve the same or very similar groups of enzymes that are produced by specialized digestive glands. Enzymes participate in virtually every process in our body.

Three basic nutrients in food, i.e. carbohydrates, proteins and fats are absorbed by the human body only after breaking down into smaller digestible molecules. The digestive process begins in the mouth, where salivary amylases injected with saliva begin to break down complex sugars, such as plant starch, into smaller molecules. Then the food is transferred to the stomach, where it is subjected to enzymatic treatment by a protein-digesting enzyme called pepsin, which is secreted by specialized stomach cells called the main cells. Then, thanks to the peristaltic movements of the gastrointestinal tract, the contents of the stomach are transported to the small intestine. There, pancreatic juice along with bile secreted from the liver via the gallbladder facilitate further digestion of sugars, proteins and – importantly – dietary fats. Appropriate enzymes, i.e. Pancreatic amylase, carboxypeptidase and lipase are supplied with pancreatic juice. Pancreatic lipase hydrolyzes fats to free fatty acids, which under the influence of bile salts are converted into micelles, i.e. a form of dietary fats that is absorbed by cells of the digestive tract.

What is the enzyme complex contained in Enzyme Complex PRO?

The complex contained in the product is a multienzymatic mix containing the following digestive enzymes:

• amylase (an enzyme that hydrolyses starch)

• protease (a protein hydrolysing enzyme)

• lipase (an enzyme that hydrolyzes fat)

• cellulose (which hydrolyzes cellulose)

• lactase (which hydrolyzes lactose)

The activity of each enzyme contained in the complex is as follows:

1. Amylase (carbohydrate): breaks down carbohydrates such as starch and glycogen and polysaccharides into smaller units.

2. Cellulase: Breaks down cellulose and chitin: helps release nutrients from both fruits and vegetables.

3. Lipase: breaks down lipids and improves fat utilization,

5. Lactase: breaks down lactose (milk sugar)
