Mirrorless Fujifilm X-M5 BLACK BODY

The X-M5 is a mirrorless digital camera with a light and compact body weighing approx. 355 g*1, which makes it the lightest*2 camera in the FUJIFILM X series today. The X-M5 is equipped with a wide set of functions, including object detection autofocus, which - using artificial intelligence algorithms - can detect moving objects in the frame, including animals and cars. This camera also has the ability to record video in 6.2K/30p quality, which allows you to practice both classic photography and create videos with a single device. In addition, the design features a high-quality appearance, characteristic of the X series.

The X-M5 is the perfect choice for a wide range of users, from aspiring digital photography enthusiasts to experienced enthusiasts, ensuring that everyone enjoys shooting.

X-M5 is a mirrorless digital camera equipped with a photosensitive sensor with reverse backlight "X-TransTM CMOS 4"*3 with a resolution of 26,1 MP and a fast image processing processor "X-Processor 5". On the top plate of the camera there is a film simulation selector knob for convenient switching between different simulation modes, so that the user can easily modify the color tone of the shots taken, as if changing the type of photographic film used.

The X-M5 also received powerful video features, m.in. possibility of recording materials in 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit quality on SD memory card in camera slot. Convenient video creation is also supported by a powerful digital image stabilization chip and built-in high-quality microphones. In vlogging mode, a new option “9:16 Short Movie Mode” has been introduced (9:16 format short video mode) allowing you to conveniently shoot “vertical” videos.

Camera design

Camera weighing approx. 355 g and dimensions approx. 111,9 mm wide, 66,6 mm high and 38,0 mm deep. The ultra-lightweight and compact body makes it easy to carry your camera around and lets you enjoy shooting every day.

Despite its compact size, the camera pleases the eye with the high-quality appearance of the X series devices. Knobs symmetrically placed on the top plate further emphasize the beauty of the camera.

The film simulation selector knob is located on the left side of the top plate of the device for convenience. The user can conveniently switch between a total of 20 movie simulation modes, depending on the type of subjects and scenes being photographed, making it easy to broadcast photos and videos with a variety of color tones.

On the right side of the upper body plate there is a selector knob for shooting modes. In AUTO mode, the camera automatically selects the optimal shooting mode for a given scene, allowing even complete beginners of digital photo and video to create high-quality photos and videos.

Modern photosensitive matrix and fast image processing processor

The X-M5 is equipped with a backlit “X-TransTM CMOS 4” photosensitive sensor with a resolution of approx. 26,1 MP and the latest super-fast X-Processor 5 image processing processor. This allows you to take high-quality photos with low power consumption.

The camera autofocus system, in addition to the existing face/eye detection capability, has been enhanced with an object detection function developed using deep machine learning technology. With artificial intelligence algorithms, AF can now detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects and drones.

The latest AF predictive algorithm provides high performance tracking of objects in motion and autofocus accuracy under low contrast conditions.

Filming

The X-M5 can capture 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video on the SD memory card inserted into the camera. It also has extensive video functionality, such as the ability to record 4K/60P and 1080/240P content.

The camera is equipped with an efficient digital image stabilization system. It effectively dampens not only small vibrations of the camera, but also works well in the case of strong shocks that arise when recording videos while walking.

For the first time in the history of our digital cameras, the X-M5 received three built-in microphones. The user can choose from three microphone directionality options: omnidirectional, front, rear or opt for simultaneous use of the front and rear microphone, depending on the situation. Another novelty is equipping the camera with a continuous noise reduction function, which allows you to mute the persistent noise of a specific frequency in the recording, such as air conditioning noise.

Vlogging mode allows users to intuitively change the shooting conditions at the touch of the rear display. Optimizing the number and placement of icons on the display has made filming even more intuitive. In addition, the new “9:16 short movie mode” (9:16 short film mode) allows you to conveniently shoot “vertical” videos, popular on various social media and easily publish them on the Internet.

Added new bit rate values: 8 Mbps and 25 Mbps. They can be selected in the “MEDIA RECORDING SETTING” option during video recording. This reduces the time it takes to transfer recorded materials to external devices (e.g. smartphones) and contributes to reducing the time of uploading material to social media.
