How does the BRITA MAXTRA PRO Pure Performance filter work?

Filtration via BRITA MAXTRA PRO Pure Performance is a 4-step process:

• Super fine mesh: captures large particles from old water pipes e.g. sand or rust.
• Natural activated carbon pearls made from coconuts will prevent chlorine and its derivatives from entering the filtered water, as well as trace impurities such as herbicides, pesticides and pharmaceutical residues (if present in tap water)
• Ion exchanger beads reduce metals: e.g. Lead and copper and soften water (hardness reduction has been tested up to 120 l).
• Additional high-efficiency filter mesh is 4x better contaminant retention compared to the previous MAXTRA+ filter (30 micrometer particle size)
