What is vacuum insulation?

The vacuum means that the air between the outer and inner layers of stainless steel has been removed to create vacuum insulation. Blocks heat transfer through the air (conduction). ZOJIRUSHI vacuum insulation also contains a layer of copper or aluminum tightly wrapped around the outer inner layer of stainless steel

The gap between the two layers is very narrow and is approx. 1mm so that all thermoses and cups ZOJIRUSHI have a larger capacity than could be assessed from the outside.
