It is a universal double kayak, designed for lakes, rivers and other water reservoirs. Thanks to its very large luggage capacity, it is often chosen for multi-week expeditions. But it also works well on shorter weekend trips.

ALU-2 is a very practical, reliable construction modeled on the legendary Russian folding kayak Tajmień-2. However, Neris’ unit has undergone numerous modifications. Finally, a completely new kayak was created without design flaws of the original while maintaining all the advantages of its predecessor. The most important of the changes concerned the reinforcement of the frame structure, a new PVC coating made in modern technology with high mechanical resistance and resistant to weather conditions. Modern materials were used in the kayak. The manufacturer also made numerous minor structural changes that facilitated its installation.

Neris ALU-2 is a double kayak, but after installing an additional seat in the center, 2 adults and a child can successfully swim with it. It is also possible to use the kayak as a 1-person kayak. To do this, it is enough to sit in the central part of the kayak.

Thanks to the use of modern materials, the weight of ALU-2 is only 25,6 kg for the standard version.

The packed kayak fits in one backpack. When folded, this large, five-meter kayak takes up as much space as a medium-sized mountain backpack! So it can easily fit in the back seat of the car or in its trunk. The dimensions and its weight allow for trouble-free transport by train, bus or plane. The backpack in which the kayak fits is made of abrasion-resistant material type cordura, has a hip belt for easy carrying on the back.

Convenience and safety

The kayak is equipped with pneumatic, comfortable seats, which provide comfortable paddling for kayakers for many hours. The bottom of the kayak has in places most exposed to damage reinforcement in the form of thick rubber strips, the so-called. tram.

Maintenance

Unlike most others, the ALU-2 folding kayak basically does not require special maintenance. Made entirely of durable PVC, the coating does not soak up water. Therefore, after swimming, it is enough to wipe the kayak with a cloth and it is ready to be packed into a backpack. After packing, the kayak should be stored in a dry place.

Attention. Longer use of ALU series kayaks in salt water, due to the phenomenon of electrolysis, may negatively affect the durability of metal rib mounts over time. For use in typical marine conditions, we recommend Walkure kayaks.
