2. Does IAMS contain concentrated plant or protein components?

No, IAMS is proud to use only animal-derived ingredients as its primary source of protein. For this range, the main sources of protein are dried chicken and turkey, fresh chicken, freshly frozen lamb, freshly frozen salmon and freshly frozen ocean fish. Naturally occurring low protein levels are also found in our cereals. We do not use concentrated cereal protein ingredients such as corn gluten or soy protein

3. Why is fish oil added to specific IAMS diets for cats and dogs?

Ocean fish oil is a unique source of natural long-chain omega-3 fatty acids – EPA, DPA and DHA and is obtained mainly from sustainably caught fish and from fish by-products. In products with this ingredient, it is referred to as "fish oil".
