PULSE FUNCTION

❓ What welding methods does this migomat support?

The PATON StandardMIG-160 welding machine is a semi-automatic welding machine that supports several methods:

• MIG/MAG – welding with gas shielded wire (steel, stainless steel, aluminium),
• MIG/MAG without gas (FCAW) – self-shielding wire welding, ideal for field work,
• MMA – classic welding with a wrapped electrode,
• TIG Lift – TIG welding with ignition by rubbing (after connecting the TIG handle).

It is a universal device for workshop, garage, construction and assembly work.

❓ What is the maximum welding current and what materials can be welded?

The StandardMIG-160 offers welding currents up to 160 A and smooth adjustment in the range of 8 –160 A.

Allows welding:

• structural steel up to 5 mm,
• stainless steel up to 4 mm,
• aluminium up to approx. 3 mm (after using the appropriate wire and gas).

The welder has a 45% duty cycle at 160 A, which ensures the possibility of long-term operation without overheating. It is an ideal choice for workshop work, repairs, steel and bodywork structures. At lower currents (e.g. 120 – 130 A) welding machine can work practically continuously.

The welder supports wires:

• steel, stainless and aluminium,
• with a diameter of 0,6 to 1,0 mm,
• for 5 kg spools (⌀ 200 mm)

If necessary, self-shielding wire (FCAW) can be used without the use of gas – just change the polarity in the device.

Yes — PATON StandardMIG-160 has a pulse welding function.

Pulse mode works in all methods:

• MIG/MAG,
• MMA,
• TIG.

The pulse function allows for cleaner, more precise and aesthetic welds, especially when welding thin materials, aluminum and stainless steel. In addition, it reduces the amount of chipping and reduces the heating of the material, which protects the elements from deformation.

PATON welding machines are manufactured in Europe and not in China, which guarantees high quality, durability and reliability. The StandardMIG model is covered by 5-year service care, implemented in Poland – in an authorized service in Rzeszów. This is a guarantee of fast and professional technical support.

The StandardMIG-160 welder can be powered from a generator set, provided that:

• the unit has voltage stabilization (AVR),
• its continuous power is a minimum of 4 to 4,5 kW,
• The recommended power is 5 kW with AVR if you plan to weld at full power (160 A).

The 3,5-4 kW unit with AVR is sufficient for typical workshop work with currents up to 120-140 A.

• up to 95 meters with a cross-section of 2,5 mm²,
• up to 230 meters with a cross-section of 6 mm².
