Powermat semi-automatic welding machine has a very wide range of applications. It enables efficient welding of various types of material groups in a wide range of material thicknesses. The IGBT transistors used have a beneficial effect on lower electricity consumption, greater resistance to interference and voltage drops, and good arc characteristics.
The control panel is now even easier to use, and the operator has quick access to all functions. This has a positive impact on ergonomics and work efficiency in the plant.
The electronics of the device are based on IGBT transistors combining the advantages of two types of transistors: the ease of control of field-effect transistors and the high breakdown voltage and switching speed of bipolar transistors. The welding current is very stable, which guarantees a perfect weld. Thanks to IGBT technology , the device is lighter and more energy-efficient.
The model is a welding machine whose design is based on efficient IGBT transistors. It is equipped with clear LCD displays showing the current welding current set using knobs, one of which is also a function selection button. The MIG machine is equipped with a cooling fan, electronics and other components, as well as a thermal sensor protecting the device against overheating.
🟠 PERFORMANCE AND CAPABILITIES
◾ HIGH EFFICIENCY
Thanks to the use of IGBT transistor technology, the efficiency of the device is up to 60%.
◾ BUILT-IN FUNCTIONS TO FACILITATE WORK
- HOT START (automatic), popularly known as hot start, allows welding current to be temporarily increased above the value set by the welder. HOT START works at the moment of arcing and is designed to prevent the electrode from sticking to the material. It is a great convenience when lighting the electrode.
- ANTI STICK (automatic) cuts off/minimizes welding voltage and current in case of short circuit of the electrode with the welded material. ANTI STICK allows the welder to detach the electrode more easily.
- ARC FORCE (automatic) stabilizes the arc regardless of its length. By reducing the value of the function, it gives a soft arc and a smaller depth of melt, while increasing the value of the function causes deeper melting and the possibility of welding with a short arc. At the highest value for the ARC FORCE function, it is possible to "press the electrode into a lake of molten metal and burn the material through.
🟠 ADJUSTMENT OF THE DEVICE
◾ Welding arc voltage:
It affects the stability of the arc and the amount of splashes of liquid metal. Welding should be performed with a short (short-circuit) arc. Too high arc voltage causes less stable arc glow, lower short circuit frequency and greater spatter. With constant welding current and constant electrode wire feed speed, the voltage value affects the arc length and weld shape. Reducing the voltage shortens the welding arc, while increasing it causes the arc to be extended. Conversely, changes in arc length are accompanied by changes in welding arc voltage. Excessive elongation or shortening of the welding arc can cause unstable arc glow and the formation of welding defects in the weld.
◾ Welding current:
It depends on the value of the set voltage, diameter and speed of wire feeding. The value of welding current is selected primarily depending on the thickness and chemical composition of the basic material, the number of stitches laid, the position and speed of welding.
🟠 IGBT PICKUPS
The distinguishing feature of this welding machine from competing machines are the latest generation of IGBT transducers, which ensure low weight of the device and high reliability.
The high-end IGBT transistors used in the converter allow to achieve a smooth weld and significantly reduce the amount of chipping.
🟠 WIRE FEEDING SYSTEM
The 2-roll feeder allows precise extension of the welding wire excluding its slippage. Wire feed in full automatic.
🟠 WELDING CAPABILITIES
◾ MIG/MAG WELDING
MIG/MAG welding is one of the most widely used welding processes. But what exactly is behind it? It all depends on the choice of matching shielding gases and binders, up to the properties of different types of welding arcs.
MIG/MAG welding is also known as arc welding of metals.
◾ Where is this welding method used?
MIG/MAG welding processes can be used extremely universally. They are used, among others, in the metalworking industry, in the construction of steel structures and tanks, shipbuilding and in the automotive industry. MIG/MAG processes allow welding of elements from different materials, with different thicknesses and geometries. MIG welding is particularly suitable for non-ferrous metals: magnesium, copper and titanium. The MAG method is mainly used for welding non-alloy, low-alloy and high-alloy steels.
◾ Advantages of MIG/MAG welding:
- high melting efficiency,
- lack of slag,
- easy ignition of the welding arc,
- good suitability for mechanized and automated welding,
- high welding speed with good weld quality,
- good suitability for use in forced and difficult positions,
- low cost of binders.
◾ MMA WELDING
Arc welding with a wrapped electrode is also called the MMA (Manual Arc Welding) method and it is the oldest and most universal method of arc welding.
In the MMA method, a wrapped electrode is used, which consists of a metal core covered with a compressed sheath. An electric arc is produced between the end of the electrode and the welded material. The arc glow is contact by touching the end of the electrode to the welded material. The electrode melts and drops of molten metal electrodes are transferred through the arc to a liquid lake of welded metal forming a weld after cooling. The welder pushes the electrode as it melts into the welded object to maintain a constant-length arc and at the same time moves its melting end along the welding line. The melting sheath of the electrode emits gases that protect the liquid metal from the influence of the atmosphere and then solidifies and forms a slag on the surface of the lake, which protects the solidifying metal of the weld from the influence of the environment. After moving the electrode away from the welded object, the electric arc stops and the welding process is interrupted. After laying one stitch, the slag should be mechanically removed.
The main difference from other welding methods is that in the MMA method the electrode is shortened. In the TIG and MIG/MAG method, the length of the electrode remains unchanged at all times and the distance between the handle and the welded element is constant at all times. In the MMA method, in order to maintain a constant distance between the electrode and the welding lake, the electrode holder must be moved towards the welded element at all times, which means that the welder's skills play a special role.
◾ TIG LIFT WELDING
TIG welding is a method that allows to obtain the highest quality welds. The welding arc glows between a high temperature resistant, non-melting tungsten electrode and a welded element. The inert gas from which the method is named produces an anaerobic atmosphere and prevents the chemical reactions of the liquid welding lake. As a result, smooth, even and non-porous welds are created. The binder is supplied manually or from a wire feeder.
TIG welding is possible for all weldable metals. The largest range of application is stainless steels and non-ferrous metals, such as copper and brass. TIG is primarily used to make the weld ridge layer, because the welds are clean and pore-free, and thus tolerate dynamic loads well.
