The Scorpio DS 385 returns in a refreshed version as a new generation single-person pneumatic kayak. It is a lightweight, fast and very rigid model that combines the performance of a hard kayak with the convenience of transport and storage. The new version retains all the proven features of the previous model, and has been enriched with new solutions and a refreshed look.

New: Soft Keel technology

The new kayak model has been equipped with an innovative soft keel, i.e. a keel made in dropstitch technology. Unlike classic hard keels, soft keel is more flexible, so the kayak can safely overrun the hard ground (e.g. stones or edge) without the risk of damage.

What does Soft Keel do in practice?

• better holding of the direction – the kayak flows straight without the need for a skegu
• easier manoeuvring – you maintain control and maneuverability
• greater resistance to damage – flexible design better withstands contact with obstacles and provides less risk of damage to the bottom of the kayak
• thanks to the use of Soft Keel, the kayak takes up less space when folded, which makes it easier to transport and store

Our kayak is one of the first made in this technology! In addition to the introduction of Soft Keel, the kayak remains the same proven model that users know and value.

Dropstitch technology – rigidity and performance

The side chambers and floor are made in dropstitch technology, which allows you to achieve high pressure and high rigidity of the structure.

What makes dropstitch technology different?

In standard pumped kayaks, the interior is filled only with air – just like in mattresses or basic pneumatic structures.

Dropstitch technology is different. The interior of the kayak is made up of thousands of durable polyester fibers that combine the upper and lower layers of material. Thanks to this, the structure retains its shape even at high pressure.

The effect?

• stiffness similar to a hard kayak
• very good stability
• Improved performance and handling on the water

This ensures that the kayak at 8 psi is stable and sturdy like a hard shell model, while remaining lightweight and compact.

The shape of the bow and stern in the letter "V" provides:

In addition, the detachable fin (fin) supports the kayak's handling straight ahead.
