The knives of this design owe their popularity to their unparalleled practicality and durability - it was with them in mind that they were designed in 1942 as new combat knives for the American Marine Corps (USMC). Since then, Ka-Bar knives have proven their worth in the hands of civilian and military users around the world.

The knife is made of high quality Cro-Van 1095 steel. The smooth blade with the characteristic Clip Point shape and shallow armor is covered with a black, anti-glare coating. On one side of the blade, the manufacturer's markings were stamped, leaving an empty space for individual engraving on the other side.

The handle is made of pressurized pieces of buffalo leather. The steel deer protects against slipping of the hand on the blade.

The set includes a knife sheath made of brown leather.
