✔ Moringa oleifera - (Moringa oleifera), also known as horseradish tree or drum tree, is a fast-growing plant of the Moringaceae family that naturally originates from the foothill regions of the Himalayas, including m.in. northern India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Currently, moringa is grown in many tropical and subtropical regions, and its fresh or dried leaves are most often used for the production of extracts.

It is a raw material distinguished by a rich phytochemical profile - in moringa leaves you can find m.in. polyphenols, flavonoids such as quercetin, kemferol, rutin and myricetin, as well as phenolic acids including chlorogenic, coffee, ellagic and gallic acid. Characteristic compounds present in the seeds and leaves of the plant are also isothiocyanates, which belong to substances typical of the genus Moringa.

Interestingly, moringa leaves are characterized by high nutritional value - they contain m.in. vitamin C, calcium, vitamin A, potassium and a set of nine essential amino acids, which is why the plant is sometimes used as a valuable component of food and dietary supplements.
