Vitamin D-3 High Potency by NOW® provide this essential vitamin in a highly absorbable, liquid form. Vitamin D helps maintain healthy bones and teeth and normal blood calcium levels. Supports the proper functioning of muscles and the immune system. The body normally obtains vitamin D from food or produces (synthesis) it in the skin under the influence of ultraviolet from solar radiation. In the summer, however, this synthesis is limited by the use of cosmetics with UV filters and recommended for the elderly and pregnant women to avoid excessive exposure to the sun. In autumn and winter, synthesis is limited due to reduced sunlight.
