The CASIO WaveCeptor collection is a line of watches indicating the most accurate time on the market. They are equipped with a mechanism controlled by radio waves sent from the Mainflingen tower near Frankfurt. The entire transmission consists of 59 bits, which in a second broadcast provide time information for the next minute each time. Long waves (wavelength approx. 3,8 km) spread without interference within a radius of about 1500 km covering the whole of Europe. DCF 77 wave reception was also recorded in Assuan/Egypt (3.600 km!! ) but only at night in conditions of good propagation. Outside this area, the watch indicates the time in the operating mode of an ordinary quartz watch. Guaranteed by CASIO, the distance is 1500 km if there are no geological or artificial signal blocking forms between the transmitter and receiver. Watches marked with RADIO CONTROLLED thus become the most accurate watches in the world, indicating the time with the accuracy of the atomic-caesium clock in Braunschwaig (Brunswick) – Germany. The accuracy of this clock is equal to 1 second in a million years.
