Designed for motocross, enduro and off-road riding, the SM3 helmet combines advanced technologies and innovations designed to increase comfort and impact protection.

CONSTRUCTION:

• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of diagonal impacts.
• 5 internal EPS components with 4 densities that effectively manage volume and impact resistance.
• The irrigation tube channels are integrated into the helmet's cheek padding for comfort and performance.
• The comfortable padding is made from recycled materials, which reduces the carbon footprint.
• The fit can be adjusted to the driver's head thanks to the crown and cheek padding of the helmet, which are available as original spare parts in various thicknesses.

CHARACTERISTICS:

• Advanced shell design: This helmet features a thermoformed shell containing a special blend of polymers of varying thickness, which is designed to provide the optimal combination of impact protection and lightness. The SM3 medium-sized model weighs 1430 g (ECE) and 1460 g (DOT).
• Ventilation: Maximum ventilation and a high level of heat transfer thanks to 10 inlets and seven outlets.
• Protection against rotational acceleration force: Alpinestars patented low friction coating has been applied to the inner part of the main EPS padding to reduce the rotational acceleration forces that may result from some diagonal impacts. This layer acts essentially as a slip plane, mimicking low friction cerebrospinal fluid, which is the body’s natural protection against oblique impacts.
• Viewfinder release mechanism: The patented viewfinder release mechanism ensures that the viewfinder is released using the appropriate predetermined force, effectively reducing the forces acting on the driver's neck during impact.

SECURITY:

• Alpinestars has introduced a new internal standard for the SM3 helmet to test the helmet chin in conditions more difficult than the approval standard. To meet the new Alpinestars standards, the shell thickness and design of the helmet itself have been optimized in the chin area, providing excellent impact resistance.
• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of diagonal impacts.
• Equipped with an emergency removal system and removable cheek padding that allow you to safely and easily remove the padding with the helmet on, and profiled 3D foam ensures driver comfort.
• The soft textile chin strap is 25 mm wide for optimal safety and driver comfort.
• Stainless steel D rings provide a tight and secure fit.
• The SM3 helmet meets the requirements of DOT certification and ECE 2206 approval, so it can be used worldwide.
