Practical tips
BEFORE MEASUREMENT
- Do not eat, smoke or do physical exercise. These factors can negatively affect the results. 10 minutes.
- Take off the clothing that adheres to the shoulder.
- The measurement should always be performed on the same arm (usually the left).
- Measurement is best done regularly at the same time, because the pressure changes during the day.
USE OF BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR:
- Make sure there is no air in the cuff. Put the cuff on the left shoulder with the cord down. If the blood pressure monitor was supplied with a D ring (check the contents on the package), put the cuff on properly, wrapping around the arm to the left and putting it through a metal buckle, and then Velcro fasteners.
- The lower edge of the cuff must be at least 2 - 3 cm above the elbow, at the height of the heart.
- The gap between the cuff and the arm should be large enough to insert the finger.
- The arrow on the cuff label must be consistent with the radial artery.
- Take the pear and check that the release valve is closed (turn clockwise).
- Blow the cuff by squeezing the pear until it reaches a value of 20-30 mmHg above the highest expected pressure.
- Slowly release air from the cuff by turning the release valve counterclockwise so that the pressure drops 2-3 mmHg per second.
MANKIET - MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning the cuff, remove the inner cord and close the Velcro (placing a metal ring inside in models with a D ring). The cuff should be washed at 30 C in the program (and center) for delicate fabrics. DO NOT IRON. You can also clean the cuff with a sponge or soft brush and laundry detergent for delicate fabrics, and then rinse well.
