Ketostix test strips that allow you to independently observe the presence and concentration of ketone bodies in the urine during an anabolic diet. These values can be read against the color table within 15 seconds.

In an anabolic diet or other low-carbohydrate diets, the secretion of insulin by the body drastically decreases, which stimulates fat burning (lipolysis)

Using Ketostix test strips allows you to independently test the concentration of ketone in the urine, which provides information on the current metabolic state of the body.

The most suitable time of day is in the morning - a sample of the first urine is the cleanest. Then the test is the most reliable and the result is correct.

Measurements can be performed every few days or every day - it depends on individual conditions. For people with diabetes, it is recommended to take a measurement 2 hours after insulin injection.

How long you have to wait for the results depends on the individual conditions of the person. With regular use of Ketostix, time test strips can be determined relatively accurately. After contact with urine, appropriate information appears on the test strips according to the color appearing. Using an array of colors, values can be read after 15 seconds.

RESULTS

The results are obtained by directly comparing the colour of the strip with the colour fields on the bottle. The colour fields reflect the nominal value; the actual value will be within the nominal value.

Ketone bodies: The results are read based on color fields; as negative or to varying degrees positive depending on the level of ketone bodies in the urine. Colour fields are indicated as negative and corresponding to the content of ketone bodies in trace amounts (5 mg/dl or 0,5 mmol/l), small (15 mg/dl or 1,5 mmol/l), medium (40 mg/dl or 4 mmol/l), high (80-160 mg/dl or 8-16 mmol/l).
