Traditional pine pagaj do canoe produced by John Paddle with a feather in the shape of Beavertail - "beaver tail" - pagaj Canoe Beavertail Light made of pine wood, carefully made and covered with a colorless, waterproof varnish ensuring durability and resistance to moisture factors. The bottom of the pen is secured with a very hard iron wood (ironwood) insert.
The shape of oars (beaver tail) originates from the USA and Canada. Oars of this type were used in these areas several centuries ago, both by indigenous peoples - Indians as well as trappers and emigrants from Europe inhabiting these areas. The shape of the "beaver tail" is a direct reference to the tail of the freshwater mammal "beaver", which thanks to it ensures itself swimming and diving not only the drive but also excellent controllability. This shape is most popular among all pagai used when swimming canoes.
