Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is a universal smartwatch that runs on the Wear OS operating system. The device provides wireless Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G (LTE) connectivity, allowing you to use most features without having to connect to a smartphone.
Construction and display
The watch has an aluminum case in size 44 mm (dimensions: width 44,4 mm, height 44,4 mm, thickness 9,7 mm, weight 33 g). The Super AMOLED display with a diagonal of 1,47 inches and a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels is protected by sapphire glass. The design includes a built-in speaker, microphone and two physical control buttons (Home and Back button). The watch is equipped with a removable sports strap in green.
Technical specification and power supply
The heart of the device is the Samsung Exynos W1000 processor, the first chip made in 3 nm technology. It is a five-core unit (one Cortex-A78 1,6 GHz core and four Cortex-A55 1,5 GHz cores) that offers much faster application launches and overall performance compared to previous generations. The smartwatch has 2GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 32GB of eMMC internal storage, allowing you to store your apps and music. The power supply is provided by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 425 mAh, wirelessly charged (Qi standard).
Resistance and durability
This model is characterized by water resistance of 5 ATM (up to 50 meters in static conditions) and IP68 degree of protection, which means dustproof and resistance to immersion in fresh water to a depth of up to 1,5 meters for 30 minutes. In addition, the watch meets the requirements of the MIL-STD-810H military standard, which confirms its resistance to vibrations, shocks and extreme temperatures (from -20°C to 50°C).
Health functions and sensors
The device uses an advanced BioActive sensor with 13 LEDs for precise health monitoring. In addition to standard sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, barometer, light sensor and thermometer, the watch offers:
- Pulsometer (HRM): Allows continuous heart rate monitoring and detection of abnormal heart rhythm.
- Echocardiogram (ECG): ECG function available through a dedicated Samsung Health Monitor application.
- BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) sensor: Allows you to analyze body composition, including the measurement of muscle mass, body fat mass, body water content and basal metabolic rate (BMR).
- Sleep monitoring: Offers detailed analysis of sleep phases, as well as sleep apnea risk detection (an FDA-authorized feature in some regions).
- Tracking the menstrual cycle: Function based on measurements of skin temperature at night.
Smart functions and activity
The Wear OS operating system provides access to the Google ecosystem, including the Google Play Store, Google Pay payments (via the Google Wallet app), Google Maps navigation (with offline maps), and Google Assistant.
Activity tracking features include:
- Automatic training detection and multidisciplinary mode.
- Pedometer, calorie count, heart rate monitoring, training plans, training reports, running workouts.
- Media functions: control the camera and music player directly from the wrist.
- Other functions: sound and vibration alarms, calendar, weather forecast, integration with the Samsung Health mobile application, the ability to customize watch faces.
- Energy Score with Galaxy AI: A new feature that uses artificial intelligence to assess physical readiness for a given day, based on data collected from sleep, heart rate and activity monitoring.
