The pyrometer is not a medical device, it is not designed to measure body temperature. The values indicated by him show the surface temperature, which in the case of the skin is different from the internal temperature of the body.

Many cheaper pyrometers have a constant emissivity, which causes errors when measuring on glossy or metal surfaces. WT323C allows for full adjustment from 0,10 to 1,00, so you can adjust the device to the test material.

What does that mean? You can measure the temperature of objects located very far away from you, maintaining a safe distance from threatening health or life of hot or cold objects. It is enough to direct the pyrometer towards the test object, the device will measure the temperature based on the infrared radiation emission of this object, and then read the measurement.

✴ Differences in measurements

Such differences are not unusual. It should be remembered that the greater the distance from the test object, the more difficult it is to aim at the object and keep the laser at one point. Objects have different emission capacity of infrared radiation, therefore, with pyrometers with such a function, the appropriate emissivity value should be set.

✴ Measurements of atmosphere and rooms

The pyrometer measures, reaching the stratosphere, showing a lower temperature. When directed to the clouds, the temperature rises because they reflect infrared radiation.

The air, warming up, becomes lighter and stays up. For this reason, when measuring rooms, the temperature at the floor will be lower than that at the ceiling.

When measuring, pay attention to the distance from the measured object. As the distance (D) from the measurement site increases, the test surface (S) increases. The ratio of distance to measurement area is 12:1. 2.

Field of view: Make sure the target is larger than the unit’s measurement location. The smaller the distance, the closer the target to the center. When accuracy is optimal, make sure the target is at least twice the measurement area.

(1) - Measuring switch (trigger)

• Pull the trigger to display the temperature value, and “SCAN” will appear on the screen at the same time; when the trigger is released, a temperature reading is displayed and the data is automatically preserved. The device turns off automatically after about 30 seconds of operation.

A. MODE 1: Mold alarm mode In this mode, the current ambient temperature, humidity, surface temperature are displayed. Pull the trigger to measure the surface temperature. NOTE: The instrument decides whether the measured object is easy to mold based on the surface temperature of the object and the dew point temperature of the current environment. The indicator light turns green, which means normal condition. If the measured object tends to mold, the lamp turns yellow; if mold already appears, it turns red.

B. MODE 2: Temperature difference alarm mode In this mode, press the trigger to display the current ambient and surface temperature of the measured object. When the surface temperature of the object is close to the ambient temperature, the indicator light turns green; if it is much higher or lower than the ambient temperature, the indicator light turns red. Otherwise, the lamp will turn yellow.

C. MODE 3: Type K thermocouple temperature measurement mode In this mode, the temperature of the type K thermocouple is measured and the thermocouple icon is displayed. Before measuring, insert the thermocouple probe into the socket. Pull and hold the trigger, the thermometer displays both surface temperature and tupu K thermocouple temperature.

D. MODE 4: Emissivity setting mode In this mode, press the up/down button to set the emissivity in the range of 0,10~1,00, reducing or increasing the value.
