🌿 What is HALVETIC?

HALVETIC is a non-selective herbicide with systemic action, used in foliar form, in the form of a concentrate for aqueous solution (SL).

The product is intended for the control of annual and perennial monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds. It can be used, among others, in maize, apple and pear orchards, stubble, unagriculturally used areas and small-scale crops listed in the label.

HALVETIC is intended for use by professional users only.

  • 🌱 Type of agent: non-selective herbicide.
  • 🔄 Action: systemic.
  • 🍃 Method of application: foliar.
  • 💧 Formulation: concentrate for aqueous solution (SL).
  • 👨 🌾 User: professional.

🧪 Composition and action

Active substance:

  • glyphosate (a compound from the group of phosphonic acid derivatives) in the form of isopropylamine salt - 180 g/l (14,83 %)

Glyphosate inhibits the action of the 5-enolpyruvate-shikim-3-phosphate synthase enzyme, known as EPSPS. This leads to inhibition of the synthesis of proteins necessary for plant growth.

The agent is taken up by the green parts of weeds, including leaves, green shoots and non-woody bark. It then moves throughout the plant and reaches its underground parts, such as roots and spreads.

The action of the preparation leads to inhibition of the growth and development of weeds, and then to their dying.

  • 🌿 The first signs of action, such as yellowing and wilting, appear after 7-10 days.
  • ⏳ Complete dying of weeds occurs after about 2-4 weeks.
  • ☀ High temperature, air humidity and strong sunlight accelerate the action of the agent.

💧 HALVETIC Formulation

HALVETIC uses a glyphosate formulation developed to increase the efficiency of weed use of the active substance. The preparation contains components supporting wetting of the leaf surface, distribution of usable liquid and uptake of glyphosate by green parts of plants.

This allows the preparation to provide the efficacy required for the applications specified in the label with less glyphosate introduced per hectare than traditional agents containing 360 g/l of this substance.

For example, a dose of 4,0 l/ha of HALVETIC provides 720 g of glyphosate per hectare. The preparation containing 360 g/l glyphosate, used at the same dose of 4,0 l/ha, provides 1440 g of glyphosate per hectare. In this comparison, the amount of glyphosate used is reduced by 50%.

A smaller amount of the active substance means limiting the amount of glyphosate introduced into the environment during one properly performed procedure. However, this does not mean that the total environmental impact of the formulation is always exactly 50% lower, because it also depends on the conditions of application, liquid lifting and compliance with the rules for the protection of water and neighboring areas.

According to the label, the product contains components supporting the action of the active substance, therefore there is no need for ammonium sulphate, external adjuvants or other products supporting the action of glyphosate.

🚜 How is HALVETIC used?

The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor field sprayers, orchard sprayers equipped with a herbicide beam and hand sprayers, including backpack sprayers.

The dose of the preparation should be selected according to the species, sensitivity and developmental phase of the dominant weeds. Higher doses should be used on weeds strongly advanced in development.

🌽 Example of use in maize

  • Recommended dose: 1,5-3,0 l/ha.
  • Maximum dose for single use: 3,0 l/ha.
  • Recommended amount of water: 100-300 l/ha.
  • Optimal amount of water: 100-150 l/ha.
  • Recommended spraying: medium droplets.
  • Maximum number of treatments: 1 during the growing season.
  • Date of application: after sowing, but before maize rising, in the BBCH 00-09 phase.

The lower dose is designed to control seedlings of emerging weeds. The product should not be used on very light and sandy soils. Corn seeds should be sown to a depth of not less than 2 cm.

🌾 Example of use on stubble

  • Recommended dose: 2,5-4,0 l/ha.
  • Maximum dose for single use: 4,0 l/ha.
  • Recommended amount of water: 100-300 l/ha.
  • Optimal amount of water: 100-150 l/ha.
  • Recommended spraying: medium droplets.
  • Maximum number of treatments: 1 during the growing season.
  • Term of use: after harvesting the crop until late autumn, for green and intensively growing weeds.

Before applying the product, cultivation procedures should not be performed, especially in the case of controlling perennial weeds.

At the time of the procedure, the proper perz should reach a height of 10-25 cm and have at least 3-4 fully formed leaves. Annual monocotyledonous weeds should be at least 5 cm high, and dicotyledonous weeds should develop two specific leaves.

🍎 Example of use in apple and pear orchards

  • Recommended dose: 4,0-6,0 l/ha.
  • Maximum dose for single use: 6,0 l/ha.
  • Recommended amount of water: 100-300 l/ha.
  • Optimal amount of water: 100-150 l/ha.
  • Recommended spraying: medium droplets.
  • Maximum number of treatments: 1 during the growing season.
  • Term of use: from spring to autumn, for green weeds during the period of intensive growth.

Before spraying, mechanically remove all root roots of fruit trees. The treatment is best performed with a sprayer with covers so that the usable liquid does not get on the leaves, shoots or bark of trees.

🌿 Other dosage ranges

  • Crop and pre-emergence applications: 1,5-3,0 l/ha.
  • Abrasives: 2,5-4,0 l/ha.
  • Orchards, vines, woody crops, tobacco, non-agricultural areas and selected forest uses: 4,0-6,0 l/ha.
  • Recommended amount of water: 100-300 l/ha.
  • Optimal amount of water in the applications indicated in the label: 100-150 l/ha.
  • Maximum number of treatments: 1 during the growing season.

In areas not used agriculturally, when using hand or backpack sprayers, it is necessary to prepare a usable liquid with a concentration of 2%, i.e. apply 0,2 l of the agent per 10 liters of water.

📌 Individual weeds show different sensitivity to the preparation. Detailed dosage in the control of individual weed species and exact dates of use in each crop can be found on the label of the agent.

💧 Preparation of usable liquid

The usable liquid should be prepared immediately before application. Shake the contents of the pack before opening and mix thoroughly.

  • Partially fill the sprayer tank with water.
  • Turn on the stirrer.
  • Add the measured amount of center.
  • Rinse the emptied package three times with water.
  • Pour the rinses into the sprayer tank.
  • Refill the tank with water to the required volume.
  • Mix thoroughly the prepared usable liquid.

The reconstituted liquid should be used immediately. After each interruption in spraying, the usable liquid must be thoroughly mixed again.

⚠ The product should not be used:

  • before the emergence of weeds,
  • on the leaves, shoots and non-woody bark of trees and shrubs,
  • for wet plants,
  • before the expected rain,
  • during wind posing a risk of lifting the usable liquid.

Precipitation occurring within 1 hour after spraying may reduce the effectiveness of the procedure.

🐝 Protection of the environment and beneficial organisms

  • Do not contaminate the water with the product or its packaging.
  • Do not wash apparatus near surface water.
  • Keep a protective zone 1 m wide from reservoirs and watercourses.
  • Maintain a protective zone 1 m wide from areas not used for agriculture.
  • Do not allow the liquid to be tolerated outside the sprayed surface.
  • In orchards and perennial crops use sprayers with covers.

After application of the product, do not enter the sprayed area or introduce animals on it until the usable liquid on the surface of the plants has completely dried.
