DESCRIPTION OF ACTION

FERNANDO FORTE 300 EC is a herbicide in the form of a concentrate for the preparation of an aqueous emulsion, used in foliage, intended for the control of annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds on grassland. FERNANDO FORTE 300 EC is designed for use with field sprayers.

ACTION ON WEEDS

FERNANDO FORTE 300 EC is a systemic herbicide, taken up by weed leaves, to a lesser extent by their roots. Once absorbed, it is fast

transported to the meristematic tissues of the above-ground part and roots. The agent penetrates into the interior of weeds at the latest within an hour of application. Rainfall after this period does not reduce its effectiveness. The first symptom of herbicide action is to stop the growth of weeds, then weeds are deformed, chloroses are formed leading to necrosis and dying. Symptoms of action on weeds are visible after 5-7 days after the procedure. Under optimal conditions, i.e. during warm and humid weather, the effect is faster. At lower temperatures (daily minimum temperature about 8oC), complete destruction of weeds occurs after about 3-5 weeks. Intensive weed growth, warm weather and sufficiently moist soil accelerate the action

measure. Cool weather delays the action of the agent, but does not reduce its effectiveness. In conditions of prolonged drought or frost, the effectiveness of the agent may be reduced.

Annual weeds are most sensitive to the action of the agent, from the phase of 2 leaves to the beginning of the rosette phase, perennial weeds from the phase of 6 - 8 leaves (leaf rosette) to the phase of the beginning of shooting shoots.

Perennial weeds, in early spring and during regrowth after mowing or grazing, are characterized by a small mass of the above-ground part in relation to the roots, which may affect the reduction of the effectiveness of the treatment. The production by weeds, especially perennial weeds, of a sufficient leaf surface in relation to their root mass ensures that the right amount of preparation is absorbed into the tissues. Green grassland, highly weeded by perennial weeds and with a large number of weed seeds in the soil, may require repeated treatment the following year to ensure a long-term effect of the preparation.
