Among the foods we usually eat when dealing with a sudden energy demand, glucose is one of the fastest-acting energy sources. To prove this fact, the Institute of Sport and Sports Sciences at the Faculty of Nutrition at the University of Freiburg compared the glycemic index of glucose and other foods such as bananas.
