With the new SmarTUBE Scorpion for 29-inch mountain bikes, Pirelli provides technical solutions for the professional cycling world for everyday cyclists. The pipe is made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), making it up to 70% lighter and 50% more space -saving when rolled up than a comparable butyl tube.

It reduces the rotational weight exactly where it matters most: at the wheels, making your bike more dynamic and faster. At the same time, the TPU used is more durable than butyl, which makes the tube extremely durable.

TPU always requires an equivalent, in this case a warp, to maintain its shape. Therefore, the inner tube during installation should be slightly inflated (maximum 0,3 bar), and then mounted together with the tire.
