Motor control unit (ECU)

The engines of today are complex systems that use feedback loops from the temperature and flow of the intake air, absolute pressure in the inlet manifold, throttle position, fuel consumption and crankshaft position to control the amount of fuel supplied to the combustion chamber. All this information is collected and processed by the ECM, which then adjusts the operation of the engine so that it works optimally at the moment.

TCM monitors many factors such as vehicle speed, engine speed, transmission fluid pressure and temperature to determine exactly when to change gear. If TCM detects any malfunctions in the operation of the gearbox, it will write this as an error code that can be read using a diagnostic tool.

Anti-lock system (ABS)

ABS is an advanced system that prevents the wheels from locking during braking, which can lead to loss of control of the vehicle. This system works by monitoring the rotational speed of each wheel and adjusting the brake pressure in response to different road conditions.

If ABS detects that one or more wheels begin to lock during braking, it will automatically reduce the pressure in the braking system of that wheel to prevent locking. This process can be repeated multiple times per second, allowing the driver to maintain control of the vehicle even in difficult conditions.
