To get started, just tap – the locator automatically adds to the corresponding tab in the Apple Find My app on your iPhone or iPad. It is worth noting that the locator does not work with Android.

If the locator is within Bluetooth range, you can turn on the sound in the app to help you find it quickly. When out of range, the device uses Apple’s extensive Find My network, which uses nearby iPhones as relays to determine the current location of the loss. The whole process works automatically, without the need to buy a subscription.

When an item with a locator moves away from you, the Find My app can send a notification about its last location. You can also turn on Loss Mode and add contact information that will show up to someone who finds your item and scans the tag. All data is protected by encryption – the locations are anonymous, and only authorized persons have access to them. Even Apple and the manufacturer cannot see them.

Unlike many disposable locators, the UGREEN CM919 v2 has a built-in USB-C rechargeable battery. It lasts up to 12 months on a single charge, and you can check the battery level directly in the application.
