How to use basalt meal?
At the first application, especially on low-fertile soils, it is recommended to dose basalt meal in the amount of 1,5 - 3 kg per 10m².
It is mixed with the top layer of soil before planting plants. In the same amount, it is worth using meal.
When planting fruit trees and shrubs, basalt meal can be used to season holes for planted fruit plants. For this purpose, the soil dug from the hole is mixed with aggregate and this mixture is covered with a hole with a planted plant.
On fertile soils, the amount of meal poured can be reduced to just 2-3 kg per 100m². If we use basalt meal for already growing plants, it should be scattered on the ground between plants and looted in order to mix the aggregate with the soil in a shallow way. Some plants, such as strawberries, can be sprinkled entirely with basalt meal.
In the case of planting potted plants, on a medium-sized pot you can pour one heaping tablespoon of basalt meal and mix it with the ground. Such a prepared substrate will be great for growing balcony flowers!
