Will the interface work with my car?

The interface is a universal device and works with almost all vehicle models with a standard OBD2 connector. Approximate dates of introduction of the OBD2 system in the world: USA and Asia: from 1996 , Europe and others: from 2001 cars with a gasoline engine, from 2004 cars with a diesel engine.

Where is the OBD2/eOBD socket?

It is often under the steering wheel or in the central part. Find and verify the socket before purchasing.

How to connect to the interface / controller in the vehicle?

1. Install a free application from the Google Play Store, iStore on Android, iOS or laptop .
2. Connect the interface to the OBD II socket.
3. We turn on Bluetooth in the phone, set the visibility and search for a device named 24DIAG on the list
4. We connect with him by entering the standard code 1234 . Only after this step we turn on the application.
5. In the installed application, in the settings, select the type of connection to Bluetooth and indicate the paired 24DIAG interface.
6. We go to the connection with the vehicle controller (ignition on, engine running).

The OBDII system is mandatory for the following cars:

• sold after January 1, 1996 in the US
• sold after January 1, 2001 in the European Union
• sold after January 1, 2002 in Poland
• diesel cars sold after January 1, 2004

There is also the possibility that cars sold earlier may also have OBDII , but it was not mandatory for manufacturers at that time.

Cars equipped with the OBDII system have:

• characteristic 16-pin connector,
• two or more oxygen sensors (λ probes),
• should have a sticker informing about the exhaust gas emissions, which is usually placed on most vehicles under the hood or by the radiator. This sticker has information whether the vehicle is OBDII certified.

The mere possession of a characteristic connector by the vehicle is not an indicator of operating the OBDII system - all three of the above conditions must be met.
