Now comes the “CHU II” with top-notch materials and technologies.

Composite dome membrane made of aluminium and magnesium alloy

High-end materials

As a material for the CHU II dome membrane, an aluminum-magnesium alloy was chosen, which is characterized by high rigidity and lightness, thus expanding the treble band and revealing more subtle details. The membrane suspension consists of two polymer materials with different properties, which provides stronger bass and significantly reduced nonlinear distortion.

Until now, the use of Al-Mg alloy material has been limited to several models of high-end earbuds and full-size headphones. It was considered a relatively expensive material for the membrane, and “CHU II” is the first budget IEM to use it.

Providing durability and high-quality texture

The acoustic cavity "CHU II" is manufactured using MOONDROP casting technology of a mature alloy, providing both rigidity and a delicate texture. A durable paint layer protects the metal housing from corrosion.

Brass CNC Acoustic Nozzle

The “CHU II” nozzle consists of a separate brass CNC element, offering greater precision and density, and thus, a beautiful color.

Replaceable acoustic filters

“CHU II” includes a new generation of interchangeable acoustic filters. The front end of the brass nozzle can be removed, allowing users to quickly and conveniently replace the acoustic filter.

Replacement is much easier compared to existing multi-layer filters, and the design provides greater reliability. In case of clogging or damage, the cost of repair is much lower than with standard nozzles.

Benchmark tuning

“CHU II” has been tuned by acoustic engineers and audiophiles with extensive knowledge and extensive experience. As a result, it exhibits an excellent frequency response curve consistent with the VDSF target response. The aluminum-magnesium alloy dome membrane provides natural, sophisticated sound, rich color and imaging, and an ultra-wide frequency band.

* The target response MOONDROP VDSF is an HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) B&K HATS target response curve under diffusion conditions and the preference curve of the ideal room. The closer the frequency response curve measured within B&K HATS is to the target frequency response curve, the better the headphones can reproduce the soundstage image in terms of frequency characteristics.

Reproduction of subtle details with very low nonlinear distortion

With robust technology and meticulous membrane design, “CHU II” offers non-linear full frequency distortion below 0,05%, resulting in natural color and reproduction of even the smallest details.
