The presence of Slotted, Phillips, Pozidriv, Torx and Hex tips eliminates the need to purchase separate sets. It covers the vast majority of screws found in electronics, furniture, automotive and installations.

Each profile is available in several sizes – e.g. Torx from T15 to T30, Hex from H3 to H5. Choosing a size for a screw is crucial to avoid slipping and damaging the socket.

Phillips a Pozidriv — the difference that matters

Phillips (PH) and Pozidriv (PZ) look similar, but they are not interchangeable. Pozidriv has additional lines between the arms of the cross and provides better torque transfer. Using a Phillips bit in a Pozidriv screw (and vice versa) threatens to slide and destroy the socket. The KD10474 kit includes both types, allowing you to adjust the tip to the actual screw profile.

Use and maintenance

Before use, make sure that the bit is properly embedded in the tool holder — the clearance between the bit and the handle can lead to slipping and damage to the screw socket. After finishing work, it is worth cleaning the tips from chips and impurities and putting them in the right places in the case. Tips showing visible wear of the working edges should be replaced – a worn bit increases the risk of damage to the screw head.
