⭐ What is it and how does it work?

It is a adapter / module / dongle for CarPlay and Android Auto, which turns the factory wired CarPlay or Android Auto into a wireless version.

The phone can stay in your pocket/bag/handle, and you continue to use maps, music, conversations and voice on the car screen.

Important: adapter does not add CarPlay/Android Auto to cars that do not have it – it does the wireless version only when the wired version is running in the car.

? First installation

1. Connect the adapter to the USB port in your car that supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and pair with adapter.
3. The rest happens automatically – the system will set up the connection and start CarPlay/Android Auto.

? Good practice: if the phone was previously paired with the car system “the old way”, it is worth entering Bluetooth on the phone and forget previous pairing with the car unit – and then pairing only with the CAR2-XXXX adapter.

The most reliable test: if your phone runs CarPlay/Android Auto wired when connected with a cable to a USB port – the adapter will work as wireless.

❓ What exactly do I pair on the first startup?

Pair your phone with an adapter via Bluetooth (a device called CAR2-XXXX). After that, the adapter sets the correct wireless connection automatically.

❓ Why does it sometimes help to “forget” the old pairing with the car?

If the phone was previously connected directly to the car unit (BT/CarPlay), the system may try to return to the old path. Removing the old pairing and re-pairing with CAR2-XXXX organizes the configuration.

❓ How does Dual Phone work in practice?

The adapter remembers 2 recent phones. By default, it connects to the last used, and if it fails in ok. 15 to 30 seconds, tries to connect to the other.

❓ What is Smart Button used for?

Mainly for switching phones: a short press disconnects the current phone and switches to the second (if it is remembered and has BT/Wi-Fi). Holding ok. 10 seconds does a factory reset.

❓ Does the second phone have to be “ready”?

Yes. For fast switching, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi should be enabled on the second phone.

❓ Does the adapter “add” CarPlay/Android Auto to a car that doesn’t have it?

No. This is not an Android box. The adapter only does the wireless version with the wired version.

❓ Why can’t you watch video while driving?

This is a CarPlay/Android Auto system restriction (security). This is not a defect of the device.

❓ What does liquidity and possible delays depend on?

From connectivity conditions and above all from the phone: performance, system version, energy saving, background applications. In case of problems, it helps to update the phone system and turn off aggressive energy saving.
