Mepps Bug is a spinner that is designed to mimic an insect flying out or rising out of the water.

A palette with a “duplicate” shape, veining on its surface – and here are the wings.

It would seem that if the palette spins, then both its shape and decoration are exaggeration, because fish will not see it anyway.

And yet...Bug has a similar tendency as Comet – every dozen or so revolutions changes the direction of spinning and for a fraction of a second the wings are perfectly visible.

This is enough for fish to associate the palatability of a morsel.

The beatings usually occur just after the rotation direction changes. Another advantage is the segmented, insect body.

Additionally, Bugi are decorated with an artificial bow tie tied on the anchor in colors typical of traditional stencils.

As experience shows, the ornament is most often attacked; in this case, it behaves like a wet fly – probably that’s why small Bugi are eagerly bitten by grayling, larger by trout.

In special fisheries, these spinners are fiercely attacked by rainbows.

They are happy to beat in Bugi horses on any type of water, in rivers weirs and chubs, and on patterns with a dark palette also barbs, especially in the land assigned to them.
