Ducky Shine 7

Like the Ducky One and the Ducky Shine 6, the Ducky Shine 7 is based on the powerful ARM-M3 microcontroller, which reliably controls and saves LED functions and effects. In addition, it optimizes communication between the keyboard and the computer while allowing other functions, including macro use and profile storage. With USB-N-Key-Rollover, you can press any number of keys simultaneously without the smudging effect or other delays. In addition, the rollover function can be reduced to six keys. The reporting frequency of 1000 hertz of the USB port, which sends data from the keyboard to the computer every millisecond, is helpful here. To ensure a secure base, the Ducky Shine 7 has rubberized feet that can be adjusted in three stages. They prevent annoying slipping in hot situations during the game and give the keyboard a larger angle if necessary. The feet can be adjusted in three stages.

LED RGB backlight

The most important point of Ducky Shine 7 is RGB LED lighting, thanks to which you can realize many design options. It offers a total of eleven different lighting modes, one of which is more unusual than the other. With LED zone customization mode, you can still create your own key backlight profiles and configure them according to the user's wishes. In addition to LED modes, you can of course quickly and easily set the lighting intensity and speed of the effect. If necessary, the backlight can be turned off completely. A special feature of Ducky keyboards is a completely software-free configuration of RGB LED lighting. All settings and changes can be made using different key combinations.

Construction

The design of the Shine 7 has changed significantly compared to its predecessor. The decisive factor is primarily the new housing, which was made of zinc alloy. It is much harder than aluminum, which reduces the susceptibility to scratches or abrasions. It is also associated with a design change that leans more towards the traditional look of mechanical keyboards. Nevertheless, the corners and edges of the Shine 7 are slightly rounded, which gives it a modern look. Keycaps are made of polybutylene terephthalate, abbreviated as PBT, are produced by a double shot process and are much more durable than keys made of ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene). In this process, the plastic is formed around a shaped piece of metal or plastic, connecting two elements together. The lower part of the keys is made of translucent material, while the upper layer does not allow light to pass through, except for the desired cutouts, thanks to which the LEDs under the keys make the letters and special characters on the keyboard shine even brighter.

Mechanical switches Cherry MX Black

This version of Ducky Shine 7 uses Cherry MX Black switches. They have a very light, barely perceptible pressure point and are characterized by the fact that the required actuating force is greater than with other buttons. Its linear switching characteristics make it ideal for quick, multiple clicks in first-person shooters, as a noticeable pressure point is not absolutely necessary in games of this genre, as the keys are often pressed at short intervals and completely in the heat of the moment.

Types of mechanical switches. Which one to choose?

• MX Blue Switch - Mechanical keyboards with blue mechanical switches can check perfectly when typing. However, they are not very recommended for seasoned players in which the key activation time matters. In addition, MX Blue switches are the loudest so a mechanical keyboard with these switches is best used when we are in the room ourselves.
• MX Brown switches - key activation is faster here than in the case of Blue switches and additionally devoid of the characteristic clicking sound. Mechanical keyboards with MX Brown switches can be decided by the most avid players, and while typing the keyboard will still be very comfortable. Both MX Brow switches and the earlier MX Blue switches are characterized by a strongly perceptible moment of key activation.
• MX Red switch - the resistance posed by this type of switches in mechanical keyboards is linear, so we do not have a noticeable moment of activation. MX Red switches also require much less force to press and activate the key. If you are interested in the best mechanical keyboard for gaming, then MX Red switches should be in your circle of interest.
• MX Black switches - switches similar in their operation to the above-described MX Red switches where probably the only visible and noticeable difference is the need to use more force to activate the key. Both MX Red and MX Black switches are much quieter due to the lack of noticeable key activation.
