STIGA as a company approached the whole project related to battery devices very professionally. In addition to the battery system, ePower has also created a modern application STIGA. GO to handle their products. Once connected, the application acts as a virtual dashboard. On the desktop, you can check the amount of energy left in the batteries in real time or use the STIGA smart charging function to schedule charging.
Application STIGA. GO offers many additional solutions. First of all, through the connection, you will be able to connect to the selected service point to get help in the event of a breakdown in a quick and easy way. Secondly, all information about the machine, such as the total working time, the number of sessions or service work, you will always have at hand. Not without significance is also the option of registering the product from the application, where you can read the information related to the warranty at any time.
STIGA . GO allows you to control and schedule the operation of our machine, which connects to your phone via Bluetooth.
The application includes a function that allows you to plan mowing cycles according to your needs and take into account the demanding changes in weather and season.
To install an autonomous mowing robot in the garden, you only need to follow only 5 steps.
- Set up the docking station in a place with access to the open sky (min. 120º). If this is not possible, remove the reference station from the docking station and place it in another place where no object obscures the sky. The docking station can be placed outside the work area. Just create a transition path on which the robot will be able to move freely.
- Download the STIGA app. GO and follow the installation procedure.
- Using the virtual joystick in the application, register the mowing area leading the robot around its perimeter.
- Define the routes of movement, obstacles and the path of return of the robot to the charging station.
- Manage the robot settings. Schedule daily cycles, working hours, cutting height.
STIGA ePower is an innovative and modern battery energy, developed and tested by brand specialists. They are designed for real working conditions, not just to pass tests in the laboratory. Their service life is 600 cycles, assuming that a full discharge occurs twice a week. This means that their usefulness is up to 6 years! Such durability is not yet a standard on the market, while STIGA introduces this standard first. High quality cells with Stiga design were used for the construction of battery units. The high durability of the battery ensures good air circulation between the cells. This means that they are not overloaded in any way. Even after 1500 charges, the battery still runs at over 80% capacity.
STIGA offers fully automated battery charging. When they are running low, the device will automatically return to the docking station and connect to the charging port. Once charged, the STIGA will leave to continue mowing.
The robot is equipped with two ePower 5 Ah batteries, which allows for efficient work in an area of up to 9000 m2. Carefully thought-out positioning of the battery – between the two rear wheels – has a positive effect on the center of gravity, creating a balance at which the robot overcomes up to 50% (27°) incline. The design is light enough and leaves no marks on the lawn.
The STIGA A 7500 is made of the highest quality materials, resistant to any external damage, but also internal. Most of the chassis is made of polypropylene. The material was chosen for its shock absorption properties during collisions with obstacles. It is also highly scratch resistant. The insulating property of polypropylene is also noteworthy, which guarantees reduction of the noise level produced by internal components.
The robot's exterior is designed to float on delicate bumps. This means that every impact will be absorbed by the housing, preventing damage to the robot.
The robot uses six rotating carbon steel cutting blades to keep your lawn in the best possible condition. The entire cutting edge of the blade contacts the grass to ensure precise cutting at heights from 20 to 65 mm.
Retractable blades, two stabilizing front wheels and several sensors provide the best possible safety, stopping the blades in less than 2 seconds if the robot is lifted or tipped over.
The device is equipped with a modern AGS (Active Guidance System). Thanks to it, the A 7500 model, unlike other devices of this type, does not have a problem with losing the GPS signal. The robot maps the garden, virtually dividing the mowing area into a square grid. Moving around it, it continuously assesses the quality of the GNSS (Global Navigation Satelite System) signal and the positioning of satellites in the sky. It monitors their movement throughout the day. In this way, it assigns signal quality to individual areas of the garden, constantly updating it and selecting places with a strong signal. AGS calculations are verified before each mowing session and re-conducted as needed. If the GNSS signal is too weak to continue mowing in a given place in the garden, the robot temporarily skips this part of the lawn and returns there when the signal is at the appropriate level. Together with RTK-GPS technology, the position is determined with an accuracy of 2 cm.
With 4G, the robot can effortlessly navigate complex areas and a variety of paths without the need for additional antennas or signal amplifiers. Unlike radio systems that struggle with obstacles such as house walls, high hedges, narrow passageways or trees, causing interruptions and requiring an additional antenna system, the 4G connection ensures seamless communication with only one reference station in the garden.
Data exchange takes place via STIGA Cloud in a completely secure environment. The data server is located in Europe. This means that all data collected is subject to EU data protection laws, without risk to consumers.
The device is equipped with an unlimited connectivity package, thanks to which the robot can work all the time.
Another important piece of equipment is the rain sensor. The robot recognizes when it rains and during this time stops mowing, returning to the docking station. Rain sensors, thanks to their sensitivity to moisture, determine when the robot will return to work in the garden.
In addition, the lift, collision or tilt sensor will ensure the safety of both things left accidentally on the lawn, as well as people and animals in the mowing area.
As previously mentioned, the STIGA A 7500 robot is an intelligent model that does not need a limiting wire to mow only selected places in the garden. The whole process of installation and setting boundaries is carried out using a mobile application. When the layout of the garden changes, or you need silence in a specific place of the garden in the near future, all changes in the virtual border can be made via a smartphone on an ongoing basis.
It is worth mentioning the mowing system of the autonomous robot. Compared to devices with a limiting cable, this model uses established mowing schemes and does not mow randomly. This ensures that the entire area is cultivated evenly and there are no situations in which the robot cuts one fragment repeatedly.
The mowing robot works according to established mowing schemes, which can be a combination of different directions. Via the STIGA application. GO the user can decide in which direction the mowing is to take place.
If the mowing of a given area is not completed within one cycle, the robot remembers its last location and resumes work from this point.
