How to measure the amount of substances dissolved in water?

1 Remove the protective cap. Turn on the meter with the "ON/OFF" button.

2 Immerse the meter in the test liquid without crossing the immersion line.

3 Wait for the displayed value to stabilize. You can use the HOLD measurement memory function.

4 After the measurement is completed, wipe the electrode with a cloth.

5 Turn off the meter and apply the protective cap.

Tester operation and recommendations

✅ The water quality tester is not compatible with water softeners because it does not distinguish between ions – it only adds them up, which leads to higher readings. Water with a higher content of dissolved substances (e.g. sodium, calcium, magnesium) is harder and can negatively affect health. Water above 500 ppm is not suitable for drinking.

✅ The tester also measures the electrical conductivity of liquids. High salt and mineral content increases conductivity. High levels of TDS can signal a large amount of organic material in the water, reduced oxygen retention capacity and decreased water clarity, so that the water temperature can be higher.

❗ Do not immerse the meter in the solution above the immersion line. Do not use high temperature water to measure and during its flow. ❗
