The managed Layer 3 gigabit switch PLANET GS-5220-8UP2T2X supports IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and OSPFv2 dynamic and static Layer 3 routing, and also offers 8 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with 95-watt 802.3bt PoE++ power supply, 2 additional gigabit copper ports and 2 additional 1/2,5/10 Gigabit BASE-X fiber optic sockets. Each of the eight gigabit ports provides 95 watts of power, with a total power budget of up to 240 watts for the different types of PoE applications used. It provides a fast, secure and cost-effective Power over Ethernet networking solution for IP security surveillance for small businesses and enterprises.

95W power via 4-pair UTP twisted pair

Adopting IEEE 802.3bt standard, instead of delivering power through 2-pair UTP twisted pair - whether end-span (pins 1, 2, 3 and 6) or mid-span (pins 4, 5, 7 and 8), the GS-5220-8UP2TX 802.3bt PoE++ switch provides the ability to deliver up to 95 watts of power using all four pairs of standard cat wiring. 5e/6. The GS-5220-8UP2T2X enables an administrator to conveniently increase network efficiency by manually configuring IPv4/IPv6 VLAN Layer 3 static routing and automatically configuring OSPFv2 (Open Shortest Path First) settings. OSPF is an internal dynamic routing protocol for a standalone system based on the state of the link. The protocol creates a link state database by exchanging link states between Layer 3 switches and then uses the Shortest Path First algorithm to generate a route table based on that database.

The GS-5220-8UP2T2X enables high-speed trunk connectivity across multiple ports. Supporting 6 trunk groups, it allows up to 8 ports per trunk, and also supports fail-over connections.
