Application of the product

TL-SG1016PE is a 16-port switch for countertop or rack mounting with eight ports supporting the PoE+ standard. It provides the ability to quickly expand the network thanks to data transfer and power supply via a single Ethernet cable. With a total power output of 150W (up to 30W per port), the TL-SG1016PE can power high-power devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras and IP phones. In addition, the TL-SG1016PE switch is an environmentally friendly solution, as the use of energy-saving technology allows for much less power consumption.

Product action

Eight RJ45 ports of the switch support PoE+ power supply. These ports automatically detect and power PoE devices operating in IEEE 802.3af/at standards. This means that power and data are transmitted via a single cable, so the network coverage can be brought wherever electrical outlets are located or wiring is conducted and devices such as access points, IP cameras or IP phones are connected.

Overload control

The TL-SG1016PE has a port prioritization feature that is used to protect the system if the total PoE power is exceeded. If the ports use a power equal to or greater than 150 W, the port with the lowest priority is cut off from the power supply so that the other devices can continue to operate.

Port Prioritization

Prioritization (port 1>port 2>port 3>port 4>port 5>port 6>port 7>port 8): This feature helps protect your system in case of overload. For example, when ports 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 use 30W (maximum power per port), the total power consumption will be at 150W (PoE max LED will glow green when power consumption is >=150W). If an additional 20W device is connected to port 5 of the switch, the system will cut off the power to port 6 so that the system does not become overloaded. As a result, ports 1, 2, 3 and 4 will consume a total of 120W, port 5 - 20W, and port 6 power will be turned off.
