PLANET IGS-5225-8T2S2X is an industrial gigabit 2+ layer managed switch equipped with 8 copper 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, 2 additional 100/1000/2500BASE-X SFP ports and 2 10G SFP+ ports, as well as supporting static Layer 3 routing in a durable IP30 aluminum housing for stable operation in harsh industrial environments. With its 10 Gbps uplink, the IGS-5225-8T2S2X can handle very large amounts of data in a secure topology that connects to an enterprise backbone network or high-capacity servers. The IGS-5225-8T2S2X is capable of providing non-blocking switch structure and bandwidth up to 66 Gbps without packet loss and CRC errors. This greatly simplifies the tasks involved in upgrading an enterprise LAN to meet the growing bandwidth requirements. Being able to operate in a wide temperature range from -40 to 75 degrees C, the IGS-5225-8T2S2X can be placed in almost any harsh environment. The IGS-5225-8T2S2X also allows mounting on a DIN rail or wall for efficient use of cabinet space.

Redundant ring, quick surveillance system restore

The IGS-5225-8T2S2X supports redundant ring technology and features a strong, fast self-recovery capability to prevent interruptions and external intrusions. It includes advanced ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) technology, spanning tree protocol (802.1s MSTP) and redundant power system in customer industrial automation network to increase system reliability and uptime in harsh factory conditions. In a simple Ring network, the data link restore time can be as long as 10 ms.

Flexible and extensible 10Gb Ethernet solution

10G Ethernet is a big leap in the evolution of Ethernet. Each of the 10G SFP+ slots in the IGS-5225-8T2S2X supports triple speed and 10GBASE-SR/LR, 2500BASE-X or 1000BASE-SX/LX, providing wide bandwidth and powerful processing capability. With the capability of a 2-port 10G Ethernet connection, an administrator can now flexibly select the appropriate SFP/SFP+ transceiver depending on the transmission distance or transmission speed required for efficient network expansion.

Time Protocol 1588 for Industrial Computer Networks

The IGS-5225 series is ideal for telecommunications and Carrier Ethernet applications, supporting MEF service delivery and time synchronization through packet solutions for IEEE 1588 and synchronous Ethernet.

Programmatic Layer 3 IPv4 and IPv6 VLAN routing for secure and flexible management

To help customers stay on top of their business, the IGS-5225 series provides not only ultra-high transmission performance and excellent Layer 2 technologies, but also an IPv4/IPv6 VLAN software routing feature that allows you to cross-breed different VLANs and different IP addresses for highly secure, flexible management and a simpler network application.

Cybersecurity networking solution to minimize security risks

The new generation of the IGS-5225 series has a cybersecurity feature that protects switch management and increases mission-critical network security without additional deployment costs and effort. The IGS-5225 series expands memory and updates the SSH and SSL protocol kernel to provide strong protection against advanced threats. It includes a number of cybersecurity features such as DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, ARP Inspection Protection, 802.1x port and Mac-based network access control, RADIUS and TACACS+ user account management, SNMPv3 authentication, and so on to complement them as a complete security solution. A network administrator can now build highly secure enterprise networks with much less time and effort than before.

Effective alarm for better protection

The IGS-5225 series supports Fault Alarm, which can alert users when something is wrong with the switches. With this ideal feature, users won’t have to waste time finding where the problem occurs. This will help save time and human resources.

SMTP/SNMP Trap Event Alert

The IGS-5225 series provides an event alert feature that helps diagnose an incorrect device due to whether there has been a network connection break or a response to a restart.

Digital input and output for external alarm

The IGS-5225 series supports digital input and digital output on the front panel. This external alarm enables users to use the digital input to detect and record the status of an external device (such as a door intrusion sensor) and send event alerts to administrators. The digital output can be used to alert administrators if the IGS-5225 series port shows a down connection, up connection, or power failure.

Solid Layer 2 features

The IGS-5225 series can be programmed for advanced switch management features such as dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, private VLAN, Rapid Spanning Tree protocol, Layer 2 to Layer 4 QoS, bandwidth control and IGMP snooping. The IGS-5225 series provides a tagged 802.1Q VLAN, and allowed VLAN groups will be up to 4K. By aggregating the supporting ports, the IGS-5225 series enables fast trunking that connects multiple ports. It allows up to 6 trunk groups with 8 ports per trunk group, and also supports failover.

Powerful security

The IGS-5225 series offers a comprehensive list of access controls (ACLs) from Layer 2 to Layer 4 to enforce security at the network edge. It can be used to restrict network access by rejecting packets based on source and destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports, or defined common network applications. The protection mechanism also includes port-based and MAC-based authentication of users and 802.1x devices. With the private VLAN feature, you can prevent communication between edge ports to ensure user privacy. Network administrators can now build highly secure enterprise networks with much less time and effort than before.

Intelligent SFP Diagnosis Mechanism

The IGS-5225 series supports SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) function that greatly helps network administrator to easily monitor real-time parameters of the SFP, dry as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
