Reliable and flexible network deployment

PLANET IGS-1020TF is an industrial 10-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that provides excellent performance and flexibility for deploying Gigabit Ethernet networks in harsh environments. It has 8 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports and 2 additional 100/1000BASE-X SFP fiber optic interfaces in a durable IP30 housing with a backup power system. The IGS-1020TF is suitable for deploying surveillance systems, secure control and wireless services in demanding climatic environments with a wide temperature range from -40 to 75 degrees C.

Fiber optic connection extending network coverage

The two mini-GBIC slots built into the IGS-1020TF support SFP auto-detection and dual speed with 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) fiber modules . This means the administrator can flexibly choose the appropriate SFP module depending on the distance or transmission speed required to effectively extend the network. The distance can be increased from 550 meters to 2 kilometers (multi-mode fiber) and 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/120 kilometers (single-mode or WDM fiber). They are well suited for applications, uplink, backbone switch and monitoring center over long distances.

Design resistant to environmental conditions

With its IP30 rated metal housing, the IGS-1020TF provides a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and strong electrical surges that typically occur on factory floors or in curbside traffic control cabinets. With an operating temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees C , the IGS-1020TF can be placed in almost any harsh environment. The IGS-1020TF also supports DIN rail or wall mounting for efficient use of cabinet space.

Dual power input

The IGS-1020TF features a powerful dual power input system with a wide voltage range (12V~48V DC or 24V AC) connected to the customer's automation network to increase system reliability and uptime. In the example below, when power supply 1 fails, the hardware failover function will be activated automatically to continue powering the IGS-1020TF via power supply 2 without any loss of operation.

Energy saving

The IGS-1020TF, using advanced green networking technologies and the IEEE 802.3az protocol, is able to provide energy savings of up to 50% while maintaining high performance.

Energy Saving Link Down

Link Down Power Saving goes beyond IEEE specifications to automatically lower power consumption for a given port when it is not linked. With Link Down power-saving technology, the IGS-1020TF will automatically adjust the power consumption of ports that are turned off or not connected to a network device.

Intelligent power scale based on cable length

The intelligent power scale is an algorithm that actively determines the appropriate power level based on cable length. When the IGS-1020TF is connected to an Ethernet cable shorter than 20m , the device can achieve maximum power saving because the IGS-1020TF will automatically detect the Ethernet cable length and reduce power consumption. The connected device can significantly reduce the overall power consumption, which contributes significantly to energy savings.

Solid protection

The IGS-1020TF provides ±6KV DC contact discharge and ±8KV DC air discharge for Ethernet ESD protection. It also supports ±4KV surge immunity to improve product stability and protect user networks from devastating ESD attacks, ensuring workflows do not fluctuate.

Plug and Power Network Implementation

All RJ45 copper interfaces on the IGS-1020TF support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation for optimal speed detection via Category 6, 5 or 5e RJ45 cables. Standard auto-MDI/MDI-X support can detect the connection type of any Ethernet device without the need for special straight-through or crossover cables.
