The GSD-803 incorporates two advanced Green Networking technologies and can save up to 40% of energy while maintaining high performance.

(1) Port Sleep Mode Energy Saving

Port sleep mode energy saving exceeds IEEE specifications by automatically reducing power consumption for any given port when it is not connected. With the port sleep mode energy-saving technology, the GSD-803 automatically adjusts the power consumption of ports that are shut down or not connected to a network device.

(2) Intelligent Power Adjustment by Cable Length

Intelligent power adjustment, another adopted technology, is a smart algorithm that actively determines the appropriate power level based on cable length. When the GSD-803 is connected to an Ethernet cable shorter than 20 meters, the device can achieve maximum energy savings because the GSD-803 automatically detects the Ethernet cable length and reduces power consumption. The connected device can significantly reduce total power consumption, making a substantial contribution to energy saving.

Guiding Home, SOHO, and Workgroups to the Next Generation of High-Speed Networks

The GSD-803 is designed in a modern, compact metal housing, making it easy to deploy high-speed Gigabit networks in home or SOHO applications. Providing a 16Gbps switching fabric, the GSD-803 is capable of handling extremely large amounts of data in a secure topology linking to backbone or high-capacity servers. The GSD-803 offers an 8K MAC address table and gigabit-speed packet transfer without risk of packet loss. The device's high data throughput makes it ideal for most Gigabit environments, especially for networks that are to be upgraded to a Gigabit environment.

Plug & Play

All GSD-803 RJ-45 copper interfaces support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation for optimal speed detection via RJ-45 Category 5, 5e, or 6 cables. They support the standard Auto MDI/MDI-X feature, which can detect the connection type to any Ethernet device without the need for special crossover or straight-through cables.
