CISCO Catalyst 9500 is an enterprise-class switch designed for the aggregation/core layer in managed networks (L2/L3). It is equipped with 48 SFP28 ports supporting 25 G and 4 QSFP28 ports supporting 40/100 G, and the 1U design allows mounting in a standard rack.

The device offers hardware performance with a switching bandwidth of 3,2 Tbps and a quad-core x86 processor clocked at 2400 MHz. It has 16 GB of memory and 16 GB of flash memory, support for jumbo frames up to 9198 bytes and extensive routing mechanisms and network services.

The functionality includes support for routing protocols (m.in. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS), MPLS, NAT, VRF mechanisms and security and quality of service (m.in. MACsec, QoS). The device is designed to work in environments with redundant power supply and advanced high availability mechanisms.
