MAGNUM THF 238 Pro LCD V2 is an advanced TIG/MMA inverter welding machine designed for demanding welders who expect the highest quality and full control over the process. Thanks to modern IGBT transistors and digital control, the device provides exceptional arc stability and low power consumption.

Support for TIG AC/DC methods (also in PULS mode) and MMA makes the welding machine perfectly cope with both black steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper. The extensive LCD panel allows precise adjustment of all key parameters – from AC balance and pulse frequency, to gas outflow time or initial and final current.

It is a versatile and reliable tool that is suitable for both professional workshops and industrial applications.

The Clean Depth and Clean Width functions in the TIG AC welding machine are responsible for precise control of the oxide removal process during welding of aluminium and its alloys. Although both are related to the balance of alternating current, they work in a slightly different way and complement each other.

Clean Depth determines how deep the positive phase of the current penetrates the welding lake and how intensively it removes the oxide layer. Higher values mean more effective surface cleaning, but at the same time they cause greater heating of the tungsten electrode and can accelerate its wear.

Clean Width, on the other hand, determines how widely the cleaning phase is distributed. The greater the value, the wider the surface area is cleaned, but this is done at the expense of the depth of melting. In turn, lower settings give a narrower cleaning belt, while achieving better weld penetration.

In practice, both parameters allow you to find a compromise between the purity and aesthetics of the weld and its depth and strength, which is especially important when welding aluminum, where the hard oxide layer is a natural barrier to the arc.

The MAGNUM THF 238 Pro LCD V2 Pulse AC/DC welder is equipped with an readable LCD display and an intuitive button layout and adjustment knob. Thanks to this, all parameters can be quickly set and controlled.

Control panel elements:

✅ MENU button – selection of welding method (TIG DC, TIG AC, TIG Pulse DC, TIG Pulse AC, MMA) and return to the home screen.

✅Knob with button function – adjusting the value of all parameters, selecting functions and approving settings.

✅Parameter button – input to the “parameter ladder” for the TIG method, where detailed values are set.

⏩WELDING TIG WITH PULSE

The TIG PULS function allows you to control the amount of heat supplied to the welding lake. Thanks to the ability to adjust key parameters of pulsating current parameters - the user has full control over the welding process.

TIG welding with pulse is particularly useful when welding elements made of stainless and acid-resistant sheet metal.

⏩SPOT FUNCTION (TIG spot welding)

The SPOT function allows you to automatically make a short, precise “drop” of the weld without having to hold the trigger. Time adjustment range is 0,01 ÷ 9,99 s with an accuracy of 0,01 s

The process proceeds fully automatically: gas outflow (Pre-Gas), arc glow for the set time, and then its extinction with the end of gas outflow (Post-Gas).

It is an ideal solution for quick mounting points, attaching elements or fastening buckles – it reduces material heating, prevents deformation and saves gas, while ensuring repeatable quality of welds.

The REPEAT function is an extension of the SPOT mode – it allows you to perform a series of welding points in an automatically repeatable manner.

How does it work?

  • You set welding time at the point (SPOT TIME): from 0,01 to 9,99 s
  • You set the interval time: from 0,01 to 9,99 s
  • The welder itself alternately starts the arc and takes breaks, resulting in a regular sequence of points.

✅Effect: so-called. "sewing", which is a series of equal weld drops at equal intervals.

Automatically reduces idle voltage when the arc is turned off, which increases operator safety and reduces the risk of shock in wet positions or working in protective clothing.

It provides contactless TIG arc ignition by generating high frequency – no need to touch the electrode to the material, which protects the electrode tip and gives a cleaner start.

IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is an advanced semiconductor component that combines the control advantages of a MOSFET field transistor with the low conduction losses of a bipolar transistor. In Magnum THF 238 PRO LCD V2 IGBTs are responsible for fast current switching in the inverter generator at frequencies of several dozen kHz, which allows to obtain a stable, smooth arc and minimize power losses. Thanks to the high efficiency of IGBT modules, the welding machine generates much less heat than devices based on older thyristor technologies, which reduces the load on the cooling system and improves the service life of the entire device. The compact dimensions and low weight of the IGBT modules enable the design of a lightweight body, and their dynamic switching characteristics ensure precise control of welding parameters, even under demanding duty cycles and variable loads.

The compact and compact design makes the device applicable in workshop and repair work, both in halls and in the field. The transport handle makes it easy to carry the device.

⏩AC/DC - AC and DC welding. It is possible to weld virtually all weldable materials in the TIG method.

⏩MMA - this is probably the best known and widespread welding method. The type and diameter of the wrapped electrode is selected depending on the type of material being welded. The MMA method does not require shielding gases. Welding is carried out using an electrode in a special sheath, which under the influence of the heat of the welding arc melts to form a weld. The melting sheath provides protection for the welding lake.

⏩IGBT - welding machine is made in modern inverter technology using IGBT transistors. Thanks to this, it has stable welding parameters, enjoys high efficiency and, above all, ensures good welding quality.

⏩2T/4T (two-bar / four-bar) – source control modes. In two bars, pressing the TIG handle button starts welding, releasing the button ends welding. In four bars, pressing and releasing the button starts welding, to finish it you need to press and release the button again. Four bars are mainly used when making long welds, because it does not require holding the button on the handle all the time during operation.

⏩Pre-Flow – time of gas outflow before arcing (0 to 10 s). Protects the weld from air access.

⏩Start Amp – initial current (10 – 200 A). Facilitates a gentle start of welding.

⏩Up Slope – current build-up time (0 to 10 s). Gradually increases the current, preventing the material from burning out at the start.

⏩Weld Amp – main welding current (10 – 200 A). Determines the intensity of the arc.

Down Slope – current drop time (0 to 10 s). Mild extinction of the arch.

⏩End Amp – final current (10 – 200 A). Fills the crater at the end of the weld, preventing cracks.

⏩Post-Flow – time of gas outflow after welding (0 to 10 s). Protects the weld and electrode from oxidation.

⏩Peak Amp – peak current in pulse (10 – 200 A). It intensively melts the material in the pulse phase.

⏩Pulse Width – pulsation balance (10 to 90%). Determines the ratio of peak current to base current time.

⏩Frequency (Hz) – pulsation frequency (0,5 – 99,9 Hz). High frequency = more stable arc and smaller heat affected zone.

⏩Clean Depth – cleaning depth in TIG AC (50 – 150%). Determines the intensity of oxide removal.

⏩Clean Width – cleaning width (30 to 70%). It allows you to adjust the proportions between cleaning and penetration.

⏩AC Frequency – frequency of polarity change in AC (20 – 200 Hz). Higher frequency = narrower and more concentrated arc.

⏩AC waveform – 9 waveform types to choose from (e.g. sine, triangle, rectangle). It allows you to match the nature of the work of the arch to the material.
