IGBT TECHNOLOGY
The basis for the construction of the electrical energy conversion system of the welding machine are electronic systems made in IGBT technology enabling operation in the frequency range above 200 kHz.
PWM
Pulse width modulation occurs in the conductive state when a slight voltage drop on the control system, in relation to the transmitted power, results in the highest energy efficiency of the control system.
DEGREE OF PROTECTION
IP determines the degree to which the device is resistant to solid and waterborne contaminants entering. IP21 means that the device is adapted to work in enclosed spaces.
PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING
The IGBT module is protected from overheating by a protective installation that turns off the welding circuit of the device. After a few minutes, the welding machine cools down to a temperature that allows it to be turned on again.
MMA
The method by which the wrapped electrode is used, consisting of a metal core covered with a sheath. The welder feeds the electrode as it melts into the welded object so as to maintain a fixed-length arc.
ARC FORCE
Increasing or decreasing the length of the welding arc depending on the distance of the electrode from the welded material. Allows you to adjust the dynamics of the welding arc. Shortening the arc length is accompanied by an increase in welding current, which stabilizes the arc.
VRD
The VRD function reduces the voltage in the unloaded state. The correct voltage value is restored only just before the arc is ignited. This minimizes the risk of electric shock, but in some cases it can make it difficult to light the arc.
HOT START
The function is designed to prevent the electrode from sticking to the material and is a great convenience when arcing. It works at the moment of arcing, causing a temporary increase in the welding current above the value set by the welder.
WORK CYCLE
The work cycle is based on a 10-minute period. A 40% duty cycle means that after 4 minutes of operation, a 6-minute break is required. The 100% duty cycle means that the device can work continuously, without interruptions.
HF - NON-CONTACT ARC IGNITION
The Sherman DIGITIG 200GD PULSE is equipped with an ionizer that allows contactless arcing.
TIG AC/DC
It enables TIG welding with alternating current. This is required for welding aluminum and its alloys.
INITIAL CURRENT
Current appearing in the circuit after pressing the button in the handle. The higher the initial current, the easier it is to light the arc.
However, when welding thin sheets, too high an initial current value can lead to sheet metal burning. In some welding modes, the current does not increase to heat the welded element.
TIME OF CURRENT DROP
The time of falling welding current from set to zero or crater current value.
TIME OF ELECTRICITY BUILD-UP
The time of welding current build-up from the initial current to the set value of the welding current.
TIG PULSE
It affects the shape of the weld and the focus of the arc. Pulse welding also reduces the amount of heat supplied to the material and is applicable when welding thin materials.
PULSE WIDTH
The duration of the pulse allows you to adjust the depth of melting. The increase in width increases the depth of melting, reducing the amount of heat introduced into the material, reducing the risk of burning thinner sheets or smaller elements.
TIME OF PRE-EXHAUST GAS
Time from pressing the button in the handle of the handle to the moment of arcing. Usually it should be longer than 0,5 s to deliver the shielding gas to the nozzle outlet of the burner. to cover the welding start site and the tungsten electrode. In the case of a longer gas supply line from the cylinder, the pre-flow time should be longer.
GAS OUTFLOW TIME
Time from arc extinction to gas valve closure. to shield the solidifying welding lake from air and to cool the tungsten electrode. Too short outflow time can result in oxidation of the weld.
CRATER CURRENT
Current used in some welding modes, when the arc is not extinguished immediately after the phase of falling welding current. It allows you to fill the crater and the end of the weld.
PULSE FREQUENCY
The frequency with which the current pulse value changes between the welding current and the base current.
FREQUENCY OF CURRENT AC
Function useful for welding aluminum. The higher the frequency, the better the quality of the weld and the better the focus of the arc.
AC CURRENT BALANCE
The ratio of the duration of the positive phase of the current to the negative phase. Reducing the balance causes more heat to be introduced into the material, resulting in a narrower weld and deeper melting, while reducing the heat load of the tungsten electrode.
Increasing the balance results in the introduction of less heat into the material, obtaining better cleaning, a wide weld and shallower melting, however, significantly burdens the tungsten electrode.
MEMORY SETTINGS
The device has the memory of the last setting, i.e. after turning it off and re-enabling it, the last set parameters are restored. It is also possible to remember a total of 20 sets of settings – 10 for TIG and MMA methods.
OPERATING MODE 2T / 4T
2T - Two-bar mode - pressing the button in the handle of the handle turns on the ionizer and lights up the arc. Welding is carried out with the button pressed.
4T - Four-bar mode - pressing the button in the handle will turn on the ionizer and light up the arc then release the button and conduct welding with the button released. Pressing the button again will complete the welding.
COOLING
The device has a cooling system with a fan which significantly increases its efficiency.
