The KD1788 is an inverter welder combining two welding methods in one housing: MIG (gas-shielded wire electrode) and MMA (covered electrode). The device operates on a single-phase 220V power supply, supports materials from 0.8 mm thick and weighs 7.5 kg, which makes it easier to work in various locations.

Two welding methods in one device
The KD1788 supports MIG welding, recommended for thinner materials and jobs requiring aesthetic welds, and MMA welding, used for thicker components and field work. Switching between methods eliminates the need for two separate devices.
Current regulation range
In MIG mode, the current is adjustable in the range of 40–200 A, in MMA mode from 20 to 200 A. The wide range allows welding of both thin sheets (from 0.8 mm) and thicker steel structures, without the risk of burning the material at low settings.
60% duty cycle and 80% efficiency
A 60% duty cycle at maximum load means the device can run for 6 minutes in every 10-minute window without risk of overheating. Energy efficiency of 80% translates into lower energy consumption compared to the power delivered to the welding arc.
Compact wire feeder
The built-in feeder supports 200 mm diameter spools with 0.8 or 1.0 mm wire. The wire feed speed is adjustable in the range of 2–13 m/min, which allows you to adjust the parameters to the type of material and weld thickness. 0.8 mm wire is used for thinner sheets, 1.0 mm for thicker elements.

IP21 protection class – what does this mean in practice?
IP21 means protection against touch with a finger (first digit: 2) and against vertically falling drops of water (second digit: 1). The device is intended for indoor use – in workshops, production halls and garages. It should not be used outdoors in rain or in environments with high humidity.

Compatibility with electrical installation
The device draws a rated input current of 30 A at full load. Before connecting, check that the electrical circuit in the workshop is equipped with a fuse or circuit breaker of the appropriate amperage (min. 32 A) and that the power cable has the correct cross-section.
