Veterinary diet 4vets Diabetes is a complete dietary food for dogs adapted to the needs of pets with diagnosed diabetes and overweight, obese dogs, after sterilization. The fiber contained in the diet and low levels of carbohydrates quickly releasing glucose make it easier to control the blood sugar level and body weight of the dog. The most common causes of diabetes development are genetic conditions, immune insulin resistance, pancreatitis and increasingly common obesity among adult dogs. Reducing fluctuations in blood glucose levels and keeping it at a level close to normal helps control symptoms and prevent diabetes complications.

Recommendations:

Consultation with a veterinarian is recommended before using or extending the period of use. Use initially up to 6 months. The dog should be provided with constant access to fresh drinking water.

Distinctions:

Cykoria – is a rich source of inulin, which is a prebiotic, i.e. a nutrient for the physiological bacterial flora of the intestine. Proper flora hinders the development of pathological bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of animals, and thus prevents diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

In addition, polyunsaturated fatty acids from the omega-3 family present in salmon oil provide the necessary amount of them conditioning the biochemical control of inflammatory processes.

L-carnitine – is a compound that accelerates the metabolism of fats in the body, lowering the level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.

Food fiber – high content (3% of the total weight of the food) provides adequate water absorption, which increases the feeling of satiety and filling of the digestive tract, which consequently affects the faster stimulation of satiety centers and reduces the feeling of hunger. Presence of dietary fibre in the form of i.a. psyllium seeds affect the binding of fatty components in the content of the digestive tract, reducing their digestibility and use as energy components.

Carbohydrates – Diabetes feed uses starch, which is a polysaccharide and slowly releases glucose. It is very important in diabetes to avoid mono- and disaccharides, which cause a sharp increase in sugar content, which can be very dangerous for organisms with abnormal insulin management.

Dried beer yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans) – have a beneficial effect on the intestinal flora. Yeast has a high biological value also due to the high content of B vitamins. The use of yeast in the nutrition of young dogs is particularly important because it stimulates a wide range of immune responses.

Jukka Mojave - the presence of these ingredients stimulates digestive functions, absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract and stimulates its peristalsis. Added to the diet reduces the production of intestinal gases and the intensity of feces odor. In addition, yucca Mojave saponins have antibacterial activity that suppresses protozoan infections formed in the intestines, and polyphenols have anti-inflammatory properties.

Plantago psyllium seeds (Plantago psyllium L.) - seeds combine the properties of highly soluble fiber with a low level of fermentability in the small intestine, exerting a positive effect on improving intestinal peristalsis. In addition, they have the properties of binding water and creating a gel, thus normalizing the passage of food content.
