The Abra Smart control fluid is designed to check the accuracy of measurements made with the ABRA SMART and ABRA SMART BT glucose measurement kit. The test with control fluid allows you to confirm that the glucose meter and test strips are working properly and the results given by the glucose meter are reliable. ABRA SMART control fluid is an aqueous glucose solution with a low content of chemically inert ingredients and food coloring. The control fluid is designed to check the accuracy of measurement using the ABRA SMART and ABRA SMART BT kit.

For what purpose do we perform a test with a control fluid?

The test with the control fluid is performed to determine whether the glucose meter and ABRA test strips are functioning properly, as well as whether the glucose meter gives reliable results.

Test with control solution when:

• you use the glucose meter for the first time,
• you use a new batch of test strips,
• when you have doubts about the functioning of the device or regularly to make sure of the accuracy (e.g. once a week),
• you set a plan for taking diabetes medication,
• The glucose test result is lower or higher than normal.

Composition of control solution:

Each control solution is a buffered and stabilised aqueous glucose solution (with the desired glucose content). Contains preservatives and other non-reactive ingredients. The solution is prepared in such a way as to react equivalently to a whole blood sample.

Abra Smart control fluid is a medical device for use only with the ABRA SMART/ABRA SMART BT blood glucose measurement kit to check the correct interaction of glucose meters and test strips.
