Fast, waterproof SC 44 flex digital fever thermometer with flexible tip and fever alarm

The SC 44 flex is a waterproof digital thermometer.

The highest temperature is indicated after 10 seconds. The last measurement value is recorded. The fever alarm occurs from 37,5°C.

Warning: The thermometer is not a toy!

Safety Tips

• SC 44 flex is only suitable for measuring the temperature of the human body.
• The thermometer contains small components (batteries, etc. ), which can swallow children. Therefore, please keep batteries and thermometer out of reach of small children. If you swallow a battery or other small item, please seek medical attention immediately.
• The attached batteries must not be charged or reactivated by other means, they must not be disassembled, thrown into the fire or shorted.
• Please protect the SC 44 flex from sunlight and temperatures above 50°C.
• Please do not drop the SC 44 flex, bend it and do not open it (except for the battery compartment lid when replacing the battery).

Operating instructions

To turn on the thermometer, press the I/0 button. A short signal signals the “on” state. At the same time, there is a segment test (display and internal performance test (see “Action test”). Then, if the temperature on the temperature sensor is less than 32°C, “L” and “°C” are displayed. Okay, okay. 1 second "°C" begins to flash. “L” means low (low temperature – lower than 32°C). During the measurement, the current temperature is displayed on an ongoing basis, and “°C” flashes. Okay, okay. 10 seconds of measurement is completed: the acoustic signal sounds and “°C” stops flashing. After measurement, the measured value remains visible on the display until the SC 44 flex is turned off. After use, please turn off the device by briefly pressing the I/0 button. Then you can hear an acoustic signal. If the device is not turned off, then after approx. 3 minutes sound acoustic signal and device

Fever alarm

If a body temperature of more than 37,5°C is measured, the device warns the user in the form of fast acoustic signals and a flashing display.

Display of the last measurement value

The last measurement value is displayed if the I/0 button is pressed for more than 3 seconds when the device is turned on. After releasing the 0/I button, the device goes into measurement standby mode.

Action test:

Each time you turn on the thermometer, its proper operation is automatically checked. If an error is detected in the operation (measurement accuracy), the display will display the message “ERR” (Error = error).

Divergence of measurement values:

The measured temperatures may vary depending on where the measurement is carried out. This is a normal phenomenon and caused by different temperature distributions in the human body. For example, at a rectal temperature of approx. 36,6°C, an oral temperature of approx. 36,0°C, and under the arm approx. 35,5°C.

Measurement sites

• In the oral cavity (oral) In the oral cavity, certain temperature fluctuations between measurements are normal. They are caused by uneven temperature distribution in the mouth. Insert the thermometer into one of the two heat chambers under the tongue on the left and right sides of the base of the tongue. The temperature sensor must be in good contact with the tissue. Close your mouth and breathe slowly through your nose, so that there is no disruption to the measurement of exhaled air. Measurement time: approx. 10 seconds.
• In the anus (rectal) This is the most reliable method of measurement. It is particularly suitable for use in infants and young children. The thermometer tip is inserted carefully approx. 1 - 2 cm to the anus. Measurement time: approx. 10 seconds.
• Underarm This method of measurement gives the most inaccurate results, because the temperature transfer under the armpit is much worse than with oral or rectal measurement.

Battery replacement

When the symbol appears on the display, it means that the battery is exhausted and needs to be replaced with a new one. The used battery must be replaced with a new one of the same type (LR 41 or SR 41). To do this, follow the following drawings: Pay attention to the correct arrangement of the battery poles. Batteries of this type can be purchased in watchmaking and electrical stores.

Cleaning and disinfection

In each pharmacy you can buy alcohol swabs (flakes with alcohol) from different manufacturers, with which you can completely wipe the device. In order to disinfect the device used in the medical facility, we recommend Mucocit-F2000 or HelipurHplus. Both measures are effective against all hospital germs and can be obtained at any pharmacy.

Microbacterial contamination:

Since it is often impossible to disinfect one hundred percent when using the device at home, we recommend that each person use only their thermometer. This way the risk of infection can be avoided.
