Description

Extension module dedicated to Raspberry Pi 2/B+, Raspberry Pi 3 computers.

Raspberry Pi Sense HAT is placed at the top of the Raspberry Pi board using a 40-pin GPIO connector (which transmits data and power supply). Sense HAT has an integrated chip equipped with sensors that can be used for many projects (experiments, applications, games).

The sensors measure orientation in space (thanks to an accelerometer, 3D gyroscope and magnetometer), pressure, air humidity, ambient temperature. The LED matrix displays data obtained from the operation of individual sensors. It can also be used to display simple Tetris games.

Programming Sense HAT is very simple using the Python library.

How to start

Connect Sense HAT to your Raspberry Pi 3 via GPIO. Then install the software as follows:

Open the terminal and type the following command:

wget -O - http://www.raspberrypi.org/files/astro-pi/astro-pi-install.sh --no-check-certificate | bash

It will take about 5 minutes using Raspberry Pi 3 and about 20 minutes when you use older versions of the Raspberry Pi computer.

After the installation is complete, restart the Raspberry Pi.
