Installation of greenhouses

The greenhouse is designed for self-assembly according to the instructions included in the set. It takes about 5 hours and two people are enough. Polycarbonate on the fronts requires self-cutting - you can buy fronts with already screwed polycarbonate.

Profiles and screws

The latest design includes minimum number of welds, which have been made in technology that reduces the risk of corrosion.

To attach the profiles, all you need is a flat-eye wrench, which is included in the set. The holes in the right places are already drilled.

The set includes twists with a wide plate head, which distribute the force when screwing in without causing deformation.

The door

In the 2025 model, we changed the plastic handle to metal. It is durable, practical and functional thanks to the simplicity of its design and the hook with an eye fastens the door when opened preventing self-closing.

Windows

In foil tunnels, the structure is made of aluminum pipes, which under the influence of strong wind or mechanical forces quickly break.

Convenience of use - A garden greenhouse covered with polycarbonate is a year-round building that does not require disassembly, regardless of the season. Depending on your needs, the frame can be moved to another place. Unlike polycarbonate greenhouses, the foil tunnel is made of ordinary foil or reinforced foil, which does not have additional protection against wind or snow, so it requires disassembly in the autumn and winter.

What kind of polycarbonate to choose? What to look for when choosing?

When choosing the thickness of polycarbonate, two issues should be taken into account: the type of plants that we will grow in the greenhouse (whether they are thermophilic or not) and the general weather conditions prevailing in a given part of the country. If you are going to plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers or radishes, and the area in which you are located is cooler, where there is a large wind and a lot of snow and rainfall, we recommend buying a greenhouse with a thickness of polycarbonate 6 mm. However, if you live in central Poland, where it is usually warm and the rainfall is not so high, you can buy the 3-4 mm version. We recommend buying a greenhouse in at least 4 mm version.

Will thicker polycarbonate cause me to have bigger and better yields?

We do not have any research and accurate information on how the thickness of polycarbonate affects the quality of crops. Certainly thicker polycarbonate will not harm them, and the durability of the greenhouse will be longer.

Do I have to remove polycarbonate for the winter?

Polycarbonate coating does not require removal for the winter season, although if the snow load is high, it is recommended to place supports or regularly remove the snow layer from the greenhouse frame.

What is the difference between 20x20 mm and 20x40 mm?

As in the case of polycarbonate, the main factor that should be guided when choosing the size of profiles are the weather conditions prevailing in a given place. For example, in the mountains, where there is a lot of snowfall, you will need a greenhouse with a profile of 20x40 mm, which is characterized by better resistance to loads. In quieter places, where snowfall and wind gusts are moderate, you can buy greenhouses with a profile of 20x20 mm. From experience, we recommend buying a greenhouse with a stronger profile, because then the life of the greenhouse will be much longer.

When should windows be installed? Is this necessary?

Windows are installed after the greenhouse is fully assembled. This is not necessary, but we recommend installing additional windows along with an automatic opener. This will protect your crops from overheating in the summer heat. Very overheated polycarbonate can become brittle, which can result in it cracking in winter frosts.

How to attach a greenhouse to the ground?

There are several possible ways to install greenhouses:

• creation of a foundation of concrete blocks,
• anchoring wooden beams in the ground with metal rods,
• use of ground anchors included in the set,
• Dig into the ground or pour concrete or load with stones.

Personally, we recommend creating a foundation – it is the most durable installation of a greenhouse.

Polycarbonate storage

When storing polycarbonate, always avoid putting it directly on the ground. Any contamination can increase the risk of damage to the material.

When moving or storing polycarbonate remember about strong wind, which can "kidnap" the plate or cause damage to the material. Therefore, it is worth moving polycarbonate in a roll so that it has as little surface as possible.

Do not store polycarbonate in roll form for more than 48h. In the long term, it is best to store it flat so as to avoid possible distortion.

Remember that proper storage of polycarbonate can significantly affect its durability and quality, which in turn translates into the efficiency and effectiveness of its use in the greenhouse.
