Coreless direct drive motor achieving stable rotation

The direct drive system uses a slow-rotating motor to directly drive the platter. This system has a number of advantages. It offers high parameters such as rotation accuracy and high torque, requiring no replacement of parts and maintaining high reliability for a long time. On the other hand, direct drive systems tended to produce engine speed irregularities called the zębatkowaniem.Dla model SL-1210MK7 a new direct drive coreless motor was developed. This motor uses a coreless stator. Removing the iron core from the stator eliminated the main cause of gearing. In addition, the magnetic force of the rotor magnets has been improved to the highest possible level, and the differences between the coreless stator and the rotor magnets have been optimized, thanks to which it was possible to achieve high torque, comparable to that of the SL-1210MK5. This motor provides smooth rotation and high torque, accurately and faithfully reproducing the sound recorded in the grooves on the analog disc.

Variety of new features reflects different playback styles

Torque / brake speed adjustment

The use of the latest digital motor control technology, based on the experience of creating Blu-ray discs, to increase the range of adjustment thanks to the possibility of separate adjustment of torque and braking speed in four steps.

The sound height adjustment function provides precise speed control in the range of ±8% / ±16%. This is possible thanks to digital control, from detecting the position of the slider to controlling the rotation of the motor, which eliminates unnecessary DA conversion. This significantly improves tracking parameters, allowing for accurate and stable adjustment of the pitch of the sound.

Backwards playback, offering new possibilities for creative performances, appears for the first time in the SL-1210 series turntables. Except for 33 1/3 rpm. /min and 45 rpm. /min, 78 rpm rotation speed is also supported. /min.* The torque/brake speed adjustment, speed switching and backward playback can also be controlled by switches on the main unit.

High Sensitivity Turntable Arm

The arm, which has been at the forefront of DJs for many years, has inherited a highly reliable, universal S-shape with static balance. Thanks to its high precision bearings, it achieves a higher sensitivity of initial movement than was the case with the SL-1210MK6. This allows you to accurately track the groove on the plate to provide excellent tracking parameters with minimal needle bouncing, even in harsh environments such as scraping.

High-brightness needle backlight and white LED for long life

The needle backlight has a new push-type structure for intuitive operation, using a white LED with high brightness and long life as a light source. The illumination area and its intensity are selected to ensure better visibility of the needle tip, even in dark environments.

Power / Phono sockets

Power cord sockets and phono cables allow you to disconnect them. The phono jacks are gold-plated to minimize deterioration in sound quality. Due to the fact that they allow you to disconnect the wires, the maintenance of the latter is easier.

High rigidity base and insulator characterized by a high degree of damping

The basis – an element necessary for reducing external vibrations – has inherited the technology of improving sound quality, the development of which has become possible thanks to the development of high-end turntables. The cast aluminum base is rigidly connected to a special material consisting of ABS plastic mixed with fiberglass, which made it possible to obtain a two-layer structure. The combination of this unique material with high rigidity and metal base increased the rigidity of the structure and vibration damping, creating a solid housing for beautiful sound reproduction. The rubber-spring insulator ensures optimal frequency characteristics. This not only guarantees high sound quality and excellent resistance to acoustic feedback, but also effectively eliminates external vibrations in playback conditions with a high level of sound.
